well, we animals evolved that way, witth a lot of variation in each generation. that variation is an important part of the evolutionary process.

Why are there blonds, brunettes, brownnettes, redheads and all the many variations in between? Because the genes for color coat (or hair) are varied.

Different cats have different genes. One cat's genes make its fur one color, another cat's genes make it another color.
