Im re-doing a small vanity floor that was carpeted AND pee-ed on by a cat. I've already pulled up the carpet & foam mat, but... the flooring (particle board) underneath still reaks of the pee. Please tell me a GUARANTEED way ( and preferably cheap, although beggers cant be choosers) to get this smell out without tearing out the floor. I've tried Bleach, vinager, fabreeze and I'm losing hope. PLEASE HELP ME. The smell is killing me !!!!

Nature's Miracle!!! The best stuff ever. You'll find it at PetSmart or PetCo (not more than $10 for the large bottle).
Put it on the carpet and clean the floor with it. Be generous and let it soak.
It will eliminate the odor naturally with enzymes and kitty won't go back to pee on the same spot again; stuff smells pretty pleasant and is colorless.
I've used it many times and swear by it.

It's a time consuming thing to do, but it can be done. First of all, take a 10-1 bleach water solution and spray it on the floor. Let it dry, and if possible, open a window to let it air out. Repeat this several times, and after about a week, throw down some baking soda and let it sit overnight (don't be shy about the baking soda). Sweep and vacuum it up the next day, then mop the floor with Lysol floor cleaner. That should take care of the smell.
Good luck.

In the pet section of any store like Target, K-Mart is a $7.00 of "Urine B-Gone" or such similiar product just for pet urine. It works.
If by some crazy chance it doesn't, there is a product for skunk oder sold at pet stores. Anything that can get rid of skunk can get rid of cat odor. For sure.
If NOTHING works, which I doubt, but maybe...cover it with plastic, go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a very cheap piece of thin plywood to glue or nail over it -- or replace the particle board all together. Particle Board is cheap -- cheaper than products to fix it. Best of luck! If you are laying linoleum over it anyway, just throw down a barrier. The smell won't come through. Best of luck and fresh smells to you!

Heya, you can't always go for something cheap. Cheap means less you know, it dosent last long. But if you buy Urine- Gone that might work. Also try using white vinegar and water with a spray bottle where it is. It oliminates the smell and the stains. Get him/her fresh step with that stuff in it train it to pee in the litter box and scoop it daily. Use cat perfume or pet purfume on the spots that most trouble you. Or you can look up urine odor cleaner. Try http://freshstep.com I'm not sure if they have a site but it might work! The best of luck and wished to your Kitty Cat and I hope you get that smell down to hell!

Listen, you're going to have to seal that before you can put flooring over it.
If you seal it with Kilz sealant (oil base), it will just seal that underneath. It is gonna take at least two coats and let them dry well in between. Put some on the walls as a primer over the area as well. The Kilz will seal it in. Clean as much as you can first with the Nature's Miracle solution stuff, but after it is completely dry, seal it with the Kilz.
It will work, I know. That's what we did.
And next time, just put down vinyl. They have some really nice high-end vinyl patterns nowadays that are warrantied to last and last and are just gorgeous.
When you've got pets, vinyl flooring is THE way to go.

Try something called Citra-Solve, and clean routinely with it.
Keep you cats away from it, it's NOT DEADLY, and IT WILL NOT HURT THEM because it's natural. But they will drool some. All you gotta do if they do get some, is give them some food with butter over it...it stops soon.
It will leave a WONDERFULLY STRONG lemon scent in your house.
I'd open a window a bit, we do.
FeBreeze makes my mom sick, try the CitraSolve
By the way....it's worth whatever it costs now, it's highly concentrated and lasts forever.
One warning, though, please get a GOOD spray bottle that won't get eaten away by this. Maybe you'd like to put it in a mason jar, or a glass mayonnaise jar.
This works really well, we do animal rescue, so we know from using it a lot.

I had a cat that peed in our spare bedroom for many months before we caught it. I did what you did then I sanded down the wood and soaked the spot with natures miracle for several days. Then after it was completely dried I out I put polyerethane on the spot. The room has no smell and my cats have an extra litterbox. Hope that works for you. Best of luck.

This MIGHT work. Wet the spot. Get one of those giant bags of baking soda at wal-mart and pack it on. My take a few times but the baking soda should draw the moisture out and hopefully the smell with it.

I have four cats! Your best bet is something called "OUT!" I got it at the grocery store for somewhere around $10. It has "bacterial enzymes" and it really, really makes the smell go away. Plus, it gets out stains. Good luck!
