We don't always get everything in life that we want, when we want it. Your mom sounds like she has her hands full already, why would you want to burden her with more? I'm sure she has very good reason for not taking another kitten.
When you get older you'll better understand what your mom is trying to teach you. Be thankful you have the pets you have, devote your time and energy to keeping them healthy. If the kittens at the shelter were so cute, trust me, they'll have no problem finding good homes.

You are going to have a lot of "urges" as you go through life and part of growing up is learning when to give in to them or not.
There are always people to rescue the kittens and it is the cats that get dumped at the shelters that are the sadder story. Any pet is part of the family and ALL family members have to make the same commitment to its health (veterinary expense) and well-being (being loved and accepted) Otherwise the pet can become a bone of contention among family members - not good for the people's or the cat's mental well-being.

Stop it.
You have 2 cats, a puppy, and a fish, do you do ANYTHING for any of them, or do you just whine and try to get your way?
I've done animal rescue (saving animals people dump because 'they're boring',or 'it's too haaard to take care of them') forever, bottle feeding babies found by dead moms, nursing abused cats into trusting anyone again because their owners didn't love them, they weren't 'what they wanted'. And burying the babies, and other ones we couldn't save....even when we tried so hard it hurt.
How do all of your other animals feel about your whining? Do you EVER go and sit with them, hold them, love them?
Or do you just shove them away because you want something else....
and when you have that little kitten, you will get BORED TOO, abandoning it like it was in the first place.
Here's something for you to do:
Find a No Kill rescue operation, volunteer to help out with the animals, then, GO HOME AND PAY ATTENTION TO THE ANIMALS YOU HAVE ABANDONED AT HOME BECAUSE YOU DON'T THINK THEY ARE 'GOOD ENOUGH' FOR YOU.
Think about someone else for a change instead of you.
My dad would have laughed, too, by the way. I'm glad he did that to you.

You have to understand where your parents are coming from. I went through exactly what you're going through now; wanting a certain pet so badly, but the parents said no, and I thought they were just denying me to be cruel. Now that I'm a parent (and a pet owner responsible for vet care and food), I know they weren't denying me anything to be mean. They were simply being practical. Animals take money, work, and time. And even though I'm sure you love your animals, and would love another one just as much, you're going to be going through a lot of changes in the years ahead. You have friends to hang out with, boyfriends to make (and dump, lol), school, extracurricular activities, etc. One day, you'll go off to college or just get a place of your own. What happens to the cat then? One of your parents is stuck caring for it and paying for it.
I'm sure you'll one day be a great independent pet owner. But for right now, enjoy the pets you do have and enjoy life.

Let her know that you are worried about the shelter killing the kittens. If she still says no, ask if you can just adopt it on a temporary basis until you can find another home for it... this will probably lead to you getting to keep the kitten.

i think your parents are right for not getting another pet. What's wrong with the 2 CATS you already have? Are you one of those people who likes the animal when it's cute and small, but then you want to "replace" it when the animal is older? Also, are you even helping out with the pets you do have? Do you take the puppy for a walk and bathe him? Do you clean the litterbox?
Didn't think so.

Just love the animals you have. You seem to be very blessed in the animal department already. You must have you're hands full right now between school, social activities and pets.

It's very hard walking away from animals in shelters or in need, period, but you can't help them all. I guess you could try bringing home a snake or tarantula instead, and maybe another kitten wouldn't seem so bad...

Having a pet requires Responsibility..your mother is aware of that I am sure and that is probably the reason why she says no.. What happens when you go on vacation.. what happens when you have to clean the litter box...etc. You have to proves to your mother that you are responsible and will accept the responsibility that is necessary to care for the PET.
