They could both still have the scent of where they were shaved at on them still. This could be freaking them out as if they don't know each other. Also the could just be plain traumatized in general. Be sure they are both eating and drinking normally and there are no other health issues showing up. If so call your vet. They should be back to normal in only 2 days or so after being shaved.

I don't think it's because the cats don't recognize each other. Cats tend to recognize one another and people too by their odor. It is unlikely the shave changed either's scent.
They are probably grumpy about the shaving, maybe even cold, and are taking it out on each other. Mine fight for no reason once in awhile, and they are sisters, together since birth. Sometimes kitties get grumpy, just like people!

Cats are slightly autistic in that they do not like change in their familiar settings/territory. Move a chair in your living room, or take out the carpet, and they will stop in their tracks the next time they enter the room.

It may sound funny, but seriously, they probably are startled by each other's new Do, and not too sure who that other cat is now. They'll settle down once they do a little sniffing and realize it's their Bud with the new buzz cut.

Good luck to you, and blessings to you for caring enough to get them groomed.

Maybe because you shaved them and they dont like to be shaved. Maybe they are just angry and want to take it out on something. But i guess u know what this means... dont shave ur cats again!

I wonder if they have less of a scent with all that long coat clipped off? Cats depend on smell more than sight.

They are just really pist off that you shaved off all their fur. It puts them in a cranky mood, thus they fight with each other....wouldn't you be pissy if someone shaved your hair off?

maybe they are not used to seeing each other shaved and they are fighting because they dont recognize each other

Are your cats the same sex or different? If different, and they have not been neutered, perhaps the female is in season. Cats pretend to be fighting when they are playing also.

They will get over it. They have to see which one is going to be the Alpha cat
