Asthma sounds plausible.

URI soulds possible too, if this is something new.

Or it might just be the feline equivalent of snoring.

I'd bring kitty to the vet if he seems distressed or if this is something new. Otherwise I'd mention it at kitty's next regular checkup.

My late great Rusty was a very loud sleeper, but in his case it came from nasal passages mangled and scarred from the time he got his nose almost torn off in a close encounter with a coyote. Rusty never cared much for dogs after that...

my cat also wheezes and snores when he sleeps... it does not seem to distress him and he definitely looks quite comfortable even as he is making those wheezing snoring sounds... but then, my cat is slightly over-weight and i think that has a lot to do with it. My vet assured me that most cats - if not all - do snore and wheeze or make someother funny breathing sounds apart from purring when they are asleep. So, as long as your kitty does not show obvious signs of labored breathing, nose dripping, watering eyes, lost appetite, i think its fine.

My cat does it too. She actually sometimes snores and it's really loud! She doesn't seem to be in any distress though. You could ask your vet about giving her something for allergies.

Cats are nocturnal via nature. They sleep lots of the day anyhow. My mums cat comes interior and at recent make a beeline for the nutrition bowl and then it fairly is mattress we've set up interior the mattress room. i think of the reason your cat sleeps interior is via a secure practices component. whilst interior it would not would desire to be afflicted approximately something sneaking up on it.

Give it some hairball remedy. It is something I do for my cats 2 times a week. They can choke to death on them. It is not good for them. they can throw up and get very weak. Just an inch every 2 days.

He might have an upper respiratory infection. Two of my cats had it and the vet put them on oral antibiotics for about 2 weeks and that cleared it up. You might want to take him in to the vet just to be sure.

My cat squeaks a little in her sleep.

Check with your vet and see what they say. You could even just ask to speak to a vet tech over the phone, which is usually why I do.
