Cats don't eat mice. They simply play with the mouse the same way they would a ball of string. Its small, it moves, they wanna chase it. Only the mouse usually ends up dead.

A cat is a natural born hunter. Anything smaller than it that moves, (and occasionally bigger animals) it will attack. Usually it does not eat the mouse, however, it just 'plays' with it (usually winding up with a dead mouse)

its in there nature to kill rats seeing as there ancestors to survive as wild cats usually catched small furry things what ever they could to survive so normal cats catch rats because of instinct but not all cats catch them there all different
