I shall say, forget the blacky names, too common and doesn't justify the kitten's personality. Anyway what's in a name for a black sleek cat.
Wait and see the kitten's personality and I will guess, you will come out with a name that fits her/him perfectly.
Remember there is no rush in naming your kitten.
I got a kitten from the Humane shelter named Kotter which I didn't like, so after two weeks I named him Rambo for rambouncious. And it fits. He is great and know his name.
Also at the same time adopting Rambo, we got another kitten, 7 month old a female named Janice. After 3 weeks we changed her name to HeidiCat. She still hides, but is making some progress coming out.

I had a black and white cat named Elvis. If it is a boy Elvis is a cute name. He lived to be 19 1/2 years old. A girl could be called Cinderella. My last cat was named Prudence after the Beatles' song Dear Prudence.

You'll "see" what he/she should be called. Give it a few days before you decide.

Also, if this is your first Halloween, as the owner of a black cat-
Be sure to keep your kitty close by. There are some really weird people who actually think mistreating a black cat on Halloween is just fun!

Wait a few days. I took in a black stray kitten, and she had the most enhanced butt wiggle I had ever seen on a cat. Her 2 back legs were white and she had a black spot on the back of one of them. I called her Marilyn. (as in Monroe) But it took a while to give her a name that stuck. She had many names prior to that, but Marilyn stuck. Good luck with your kitty.

I hope you get possession of this baby before Oct. 1st because most pet stores and shelters do not release black cats in the month of Oct.!! Too many sickos abuse them before Halloween.I like the name India (India Ink)
