Through conversation along the way, I have heard that the marking just above the cat's eyes (looks like the letter "m") is associated with Jesus; what exactly does it represent?

I was reading and responding to this question and a lot of people say it's illegal to shoot a feral cat that ventures into your property and causes trouble. I remember reading this incident on Pet-abuse.com that said otherwise and the cops said a bullet was as humane as euthanization shots. What are people's sources when they say that it is illegal to shot a cat? Is it also illegal to shot a cougar or a coyote? I'm also own a cat but I don't think people should say things which aren't true and frighten others with propaganda.

I bought a laser pointer to play with my cat. He loves it. Is it good for cats? Will that make him go crazy?

My oldest cat Whiskers, who is 11, up until about 2 years ago would not let anyone pet him. Now he gets up on the chair arm beside my mom everytime she sits there. He asks to be petted, and has even started sitting on our laps. What has changed my cat that used to be scared of everything? This is like the equivalent of someone scared of heights jumping out of plane!

When I had purchased a kitten, the first day i took her home she was jumping around playing with everything she could find and just overall extremly active. But for over a day now she seems to be unable to get out of bed. For over 24 hours now she has been sleeping constantly and only wakes up when she needs food or to go to the bathroom. She does not even get up to do this, so i have to carry her to her food or the litter, where she barley moves, then i take her back to bed where she falls asleep imidiatley. She however purrs very loudly while she falls alseep. She is almost 8 weeks. Did she just tire herself out the other day and needs a lot of rest, or should i be worried about this inactivity?

If a cat has a urinary tract infection, would he be urinating all over (in different places throughout the house) or could he be just going in one corner of the closet?

my cat died on 8-28-06 at about 7:30. her kidneys were failing so we put her to sleep. she was suffering. she seemed happy till just about 5 days before she died. she was exploring every last place possible that she hadnt before. before we brought to the vet we all said our goodbyes just in case. we could pick her up in a towel thats how weak she was. she was 4 pounds and dropping. her normal weight was 8 pounds. so im just wondering how did you deal with a loss of your pet. she was 13.

I have 2 male cat's they have both been fixed. They appear to be "best friends" or "brothers" but my one cat is ALWAYS on top of the other cat biting his neck and "humping" him. I say this is just a domination thing. He's letting the other cat know he's the "Alpha" My son on the other hand say's that they are gay. I'm being serious, so no funny answers, please. Thanks!

I don't believe this at all!! I believe that many "responsible" cat owners keep their cats strictly indoors. there are so many dangers resulting in cats that are kept outside most if not all the time. some people inform me that it's a cats nature to go outside and explore and whatever happens to them then they can take care of themselves with no problems. whatever!! in my opinion, these people are dead wrong. cats do not need to go exploring outside and go try to hunt and they are not prone to NOT gettin hurt!! therefore, they CAN'T take care of themselves! people need to seriously understand the consequences of letting your cats roam free wherever they please. also, it's a proven fact that cats who live strictly indoors live longer healthier lives! people just don't get it! I don't believe that I'm being "cruel" to my 2 cats just because I keep them inside all day long. cats aren't like humans, so needless to say, they don't particularly care if they are kept inside.

I have a three year old cat, who has lived with me for a little over two years. He was neutered when I got him and at that time, I also had him declawed. He has never urinated on anything before. Now all of a sudden, he has been urinating in the bedroom closet. We moved in with my fiance about two months ago, who has a dog but they (the dog and the cat) had basically lived together for about a year before that at my house with no problems. Any ideas why he might be doing this now?

My cat loves chicken, as long as I tear off pieces of good meat w/ no breading. If I eat chicken & don't give him any, he starts scartching my legs.

I had my cat's litter boxes near the porch for 6 months and recently (two days ago) I moved them into the bathroom. The cats know where the boxes are, they have used them in their new location, but occassionally they insist on 'going' (#1 and #2) where the boxes used to be!! I caught both of them in the act and tried to stop them. I keep taking them both to the litter box location and reminding them. What else can i do???
