Moderation is the key on these special treats. Not all cats are lactose intolerant. Kinsey loves to finish off the milk at the bottom of my cereal bowl. I don't eat ice cream that often and he likes some of that too.
As long as your cat has a good "cat" diet, with foods having taurine and stuff that cats need, there is no harm in sharing some of your food with her. NO onions or tomato sauce though.

Some animals are lactose intolerant so they don't cope well with cows milk, ice cream, cheese etc... If you are able to give your cat these products and she doesn't get diarrhea then moderation is the key!! All good things in small doses. So long as you are using these as treats and not the main meal you should be ok provided you offer a balanced meal the rest of the time.

Milk & dairy products in any form is bad for cats including cheese, yogurt, ice cream, butter/margarine, cream cheese, etc. You're better off buying your cat the Cat Sip brand of cat milk. I buy it for my 5 yr old indoor cat & she loves it. It has to be refridgerated between uses. I pour it into a seperate bowl then the food & water. Once it starts getting room temperature, my cat licks the bowl til it's clean! I don't give her much though or she'll waste it.
Purina has changed their indoor blend to the Naturals line, which is best for indoor cats & dogs. I make sure to give her tartar control treats too. Once or twice a week, she's allowed wet food as a special treat. Older cats that have lost teeth, have a hard time chewing or other health issues are fine on wet food only, as long as the hard or semi soft treats are given.

Hi there...May I recommend to avoid giving human food to cats. The reason is that most of our cooking includes onions, garlic, salt--seasonings that are toxic to cats when ingested regularly. Even rinsing the food after it's been cooked cannot remove the seasonings as they are absorbed into the the food when cooked. Milk also causes diarrhea due to the fact that cats are lactose intolerant. Diarrhea to young cats as well as some frail senior cats can be life-threatening as it dehydrates their fragile bodies quicker.
Cats are unable to know what is good for them (they'll even lick/ingest antifreeze--http://www.2ndchance.info/antifreeze.htm... therefore it's our job as their caretakers to intervene on their behalf by ensuring they don't eat anything that's unhealthy for them including foods for human consumption. That being the case, they only should eat food and treats made for cats to be safe and ensure they are receiving their nutritional requirements.
I've included a couple weblinks below that lists all the foods that are toxic to cats. May I request that you please consider taking a look at them both so that you can be educated on the facts to protect your cat's health. I believe you may appreciate the help in order to spare you the heartache of any un-necessary future medical problems as well as the veterinary expense as well.
This will then ensure your kitty will live a long and healthy life rather than being expose to all these terrible unexpected and unforseen dangers as well.

Just give her a eenie teenie bit. I feel for my dog too and I try to give him a chunk of real meat here and there. He is allowed beef and pork bones but that is rare. I can't imagine eating dog food. But, they have to eat it, it's nutritionally balance. I noticed that he will get the runs if I try to give him too much human snacks.
