She still hasn't had them but appears to be fine needing on me and giving me kisses all the time and she is eating again so I have no idea when she will have them. My daughters bday is this weekend and we are going to the zoo and I am afraid to leave her... I have been through birthing kittens 6 times but sara is not like the other cats... I don't know how she will act but I know that I can handle it... I just don't know when she will have them...

I know for a fact that the mother will not kill the kittens or stop taking care of them... all the cats that I have helped birth kittens let me love on them the minute they poped out... Emily came and got me and made me put the kittens to her teats.... I pulled the babies out with my bare hands with prescious. so that statement is not true unless ofcorse you don't even know the cat and it doesn't know you... but all my cats know me and are my babies....

False alarm and no I don't need to go to the vet yet or maybe not at all. She was just hot so I have fans in the room on her... she is still eating so she is not in labor and she is being very loveable.... Like I said I have been through 6 cat pregnancys without the vet.... If I have to take her I will but I don't need to spend the money if I don't have to.... She is fine and will have her kittens when I am not looking.... thanks for all of your support and answers.... I was just in a panic but now I am fine and she will be fine..... and please stop telling me to take her to the vet if I don't have to.... I am studying to be a vet tech and have pulled the kittens out of one of my cats before... If it is an emergency I will defintily take her... no worries.... she is my baby!!!! Love and Light, Jessica

Yes she is in labor. The length of time depends on your cat just like any woman each birth varies. if this isn't her first time it may go a little faster.
If you will just sit quietly beside her and pet her and do not upset her im sure she wold greatly appreciate it. My cat always did when i was younger id sit and rub her when she had contractions.
If she seems to be getting nervous with you there then you need to leave her alone as it will be more stressful on her and she may kill her kittens when they are born if she is overly stressed.
Congratulations on your upcoming kittens.

I have a cat and she gave birth, before they give birth they go crazy looking for a place to go into labour, get a box cut an opening from the top and place a soft blanket or something inside show it to her and keep it in a quiet place.

hopefully nothing is wrong but to be on the safe side call your vet, the vomiting worries me.

SEND ME PICTURES OF THE KITTENS!

good luck
MaT

P.S. DON'T TOUCH THE KITTENS BEFORE THEY REACH TWO WEEKS OF AGE!! and start opening their eyes if you do the mum will stop taking care of them cuz your sent

she is in labor. Do you have a dark, quiet place for her to deliver? A box with an old towel inside a closet is a good birthplace. Show her its quiet and safe, and leave her alone. Cats do not need any assistance during labor. Check on her periodically to make sure she is ok and all the kittens have come out safely. And in 6 weeks when she weans them, get her fixed. There are too many unwanted cats in the world.

My cat didn't hide. She had them inbetween my feet on the bed. Maybe you should ask a question using vet in the question. Vets may be searching for questions using "vet" as a search word in yahoo answers. Congratulations!!!

you just have to wait, she is just getting ready for the kittens, just make sure she is has a comfy bed and is in a warm room and try to make the pregnancy as easier as possible.Cats like to be in places were they will not be disturbed.Watch her very closely and if this is the first time you may have to help her but you will need gloves. !!good luck!!

your cat is in labor ! this could take hours. watch her close if this is her first litter, you may have to help. I'm 45 years old I've had several cats that had kittens,I've helped deliver a few. the dont touch them answer you got is ridiculous.
