You take a stool (poo) sample into your vets. he test it to determine what type of worms or parasites your cat has. Then your vet will give you the proper medicine to kill the worms. Do not buy over the counter worm meds. You need to know what type of worms and the right med for that kind of worm

DO NOT listen to the person who says antifreeze! I doubt you would but I had to say that for your cats sake!
A little bit of tabacco I have heard works but I would check with your vet I haven't ever tried it.
Its actually pretty inexpensive to take your cat to the vet for deworming, I was broke and I had two stray cats that got worms, I was SO horrified because I took them in and loved them so much, I think I paid 35 bucks for the two of them to get dewormed, call and check around at your local vets! GOOD LUCK!

If you mean worms in your cat, then there are many over the counter medications you can buy at your local petstore that will get rid of them.

I've tried everything on the grocery store/pet store shelves. The only thing that worked was taking my cat to the vet and letting them give her the wormer. Nothing "over the counter" worked, they always came back.
