i just adopted a new kitten. i was wondering if having 2 kittens instead of one is a myth or what r the real advantages. my kitten is 8 weeks and he seems to be scared of his toys or just not interested in them. we have had him for 3 days & already he loves our attention and cries to come near us. is it true that cats need the attention of another kitten? would this help him to play more?

My sister's cats are hungry and there's no more cat food, and it's too late to go out for food. Can I use Special K cereal, or is that bad for them? What other household foods can I use then?

Hi,
I love animals very much and especially cats. I can't stand abuse of animals and I have found so many people that don't like cats. I currently take care of my elderly father, but I would like to one day buy a small piece of land so that I can rescue cats and care for them. I would love ideas on how to get this accomplished and how to seek some aide like from vets to get the cats spayed so they don't have more kittens and also some help on food and cat litter supplies etc.

If buttered bread always lands butterside down and cats always land on their feet, what would happen if you buttered the back of the cat??? (obviously nobody would do this)

My kitten was brought to me almost straight from a farm type atmosphere. He has fleas, I know this, but I don't want to sleep by him if the fleas can transfer onto me. The little guy was going to be killed if I didn't take him :(. He is a beautiful kitten!

I just adopted a kitten and although I didn't ask any questions on here regarding it, I have been reading a lot of what was posted here. A lot of good information but some very mean answers as well I noticed to people who respond to others who need help. Why do people shout and berate others when they ask for advice, you're calling them stupid and other names doesn't help the situation. I don't know, I was wondering why people respond that way. If you're meaning to help you're not. You sometimes here that people who adopt pets are anti-social, from some of the response I have seen here, I think I can see who fits in that catagory. Anyways, if you're one of the nice answers, what do you think when you see these angry and often mean response to post? And if you're one of those mean poster, why do you respond so? Do you really think a mean response will help others?

Just to let you all know, it wasn't me who had her declawed, it was her previous owner. I've done all the right things as to put posters up, talked to neighbours, animal shelters, vets...called to her, and still nothing. She has a collar with her name and number on it...She's been seen in 2 completely different parts once in the woods, another time across the highway (if it was her)
I thought cats stayed close to home? She is a beautiful girl and loved her family , but might be scared of strangers and will run from them, but does anyone think she may return home??

their cats/dogs. I'm not including the breeders out there. if you loved your pet and cared for his/her well being and health then you would automatically choose to spay/neuter your cat/dog. what do you think about this. I think people are just down right lazy, stupid, and uneducated!!!!

I found him in the bushes, he must have dragged himself there. He doesn't want to move his back legs, he was dragging himself around with his front paws. He got up and dragged himself around a few times and at one point took two steps with his back legs and then collapsed into dragging himself around. I have put him in a box and brought him inside. He seems to be in pain. Don't tell me to take him to the vet, I'll do so ASAP but today is Sunday and they are closed. How can I help him? Is there any way to ease his pain?

Well, we didn't even know she was pregnant, but my cat is having kittens. Right now. She's had one so far, and both mummy and baby are doing well and are happy and comfortable. But how will we know when she's done? Right now, Mummy-kitten is half asleep and purring, but still breathing heavily. Baby-kitten is nursing. Is she going to have more? She had the baby about an hour ago, so I *think* she's done.

Any tips in caring for Mummy and Baby? (Not to mention Daddy and Auntie-cats?) The father isn't going anywhere NEAR the room where she had them, and the mum's sister is laying in there with her, giving Mummy a bath. They going to be okay? Should I keep everyone seperate from the mother and baby?
