There are different plans from basic to extensive. You just pick whatever suits your budget.

I think insurance is a smart idea, but do your research before signing on...many companies have descrepansies that can be a problem. For instance, some companies will say that they will cover the cost of any digestive tract problem, yet they won't cover dentistry. The teeth are defenitely part of the digestive tract so it can be kinda misleading.

Just know what you're getting into.

$150-250 per year usually. There is an extra rider for routine vet care like vaccines and flea products.
The cost goes up the older the cat is when you sign up, so sign up soon.
There are different companies to get it through. Do a web search for pet health insurance and see what ones service you state.

It really may not be worth it for cats!! Be SURE to read all the fine points of what they cover and what the DO NOT!!!!!!

Wow... I love my cats so much, but I would never get them health insurance. Cats are pretty resiliant animals. We have a 3 year old male, 2 year old female, and 1 year old female cat. The females have both gotten sick once, and we spent under what you would for insurance. And our cats are allowed outside, which is mostly why they got sick. If you simply kept them inside! It's your choice... but I think an animal shelter would be a worthier cause.

I love my animals so much I don't spend any money on them at the vets. I feed them on an all organic meat and raw fresh food diet. I never have to waste monies on yearly vaccinations. They are a waste of time. My animals are NEVER sick. So for me it costs NOTHING.
