Squirting blood hmmmm....

I assume that since your cat is 10 years old she has been spayed and thus being in heat would not be an issue.

Since you did not really say where the blood is coming from I can not begin to tell you what the problem might be for her.

However, rest assured, there is a problem if blood is coming from any opening-- this is not a good sign. If it's during her urination then this could be UTI, Stones, or Cancer. If it's coming from the other end it could be Cancer or infection.

If you don't have confidence in your Vet advice take her to another Vet ASAP your cat may have a very serious illness.

Good luck

It is not normal for a cat or any other animal that I know of to squirt out blood. I am like everyone else, where exactly is the blood coming from? Regardless of where, I would find a new vet and take her as soon as possible. Good luck, I hope all turns out well.

The answers are right---Please take your cat to another vet immediately!! I have had 2 cats die because of eating dry cat food!! This happens especially to male cats that have been fixed. They can't pass their urine, in other words, get plugged up. It is a very, very, painful death!! It eventually poisons their systems as they can't urinate. PLEASE, if anyone has male cats that have been fixed, make sure you have the right cat food if you use dried food. Something that helps urinary tract systems, are the best. But, once it happens and you are able to save your cat, you usually have to give them a low ash amount in their dry food, like in the Science diets. I usually give my cats, dry and canned food. However, you must be careful on the dry food for male cats. Sometimes it is actually cheaper to buy canned fish or chicken from the dollar stores and feed them that.
Please get your cat to the vet soon as he is probably in intense pain.

Hopefully if you've taken the cat to the vet, the treatment he prescribed is working and she's not doing anymore. If not, see another vet.

My guess would be a urinary tract infection. Which is serious in itself, but may cause her not to use the litter box. You don't need that problem.

Cat's are prone to crystals in their urine because of how strong their urine is. These crystals can form stones. This can be very painful and cause the cat to not use the litter box. They can even die from this. It is important to take your cat to the vet to make sure he does not have bladder stones or a bladder infection. Always feed your cat food that promotes urinary tract health!

My cat squirted blood out on a few occasions, and I rushed her to the vet hospital and she had severe bladder stones that needed to be removed.

This is not a good sign. Call your vet and make an appointment. Your cat could have a bad urinary infection. She could also have crystal build up. Change her food to low ash.

She has a UTI (urinary tract infection.) This is probably very painful for her. Take her to another vet and they will give her antibiotics. It's not a big deal if you fix it fast.
