I just adoped a 4 month old kitten from the SPCA a week ago. For the first few days, he was affectionate,(bump and rub heads and knead) now he is like non responsive. When I leave him alone for a few hours, he doesnt come to me, can he be mad at me? He waits by the door, until I come back, but he doesnt seem to be happy to see me. He doesnt know his name yet, and I have tried giving him treats, but still no response. I play with him and give him toys. I have had other cats, and none have rsponded like him. He just looks sad. any suggestions?

I have 5 two week old kittens that were going to go to Animal Control if we didn't take them. Now I am bottle feeding them every TWO hours and not getting any sleep. BUT my dog keeps cleaning them, and I am afraid that he might clean them too much and they might be getting dehydrated because he keeps licking their private parts constantly!

He was dropped off about a week and a half ago, still so small that I had to keep wetting his eyes so they wouldnt mat up, and I started him on kitten formula and that doesnt seem to satisfy him so I started him on soft canned food and supplimented that with the bottle still. Today, I gave him some canned food and water. I dont want to over fed him, but I dont want him hungry either. How much is too much? And what would be enough?

My wife found this kitten that his hips looked to be messed up. (like a inbred cat)... it had trouble walking but now it can't move its back legs at all. He can get around good for his condition, he is healthy in everyway but his hind legs. I feel sorry for it and don't want to have it put to sleep because its survived this long (about 6 to 8 weeks). Its looks like no other cat i ever seen before...It has no tail (neither did its mom) but its color is really weird Its got the pattern of a tabby but it is the color of a yellow lab. Should I have it put to sleep? If not how would someone care for it?

My cat growls at strangers and bites. Is this normal? He's almost 2 & has been doing this since we got him fixed last December. I swear he growls like a dog, and he bites anyone who tries to pet him, unless he approaches them.

Whenever he goes near a plate of table food no matter what it is he takes his paw and tries to cover it up. Its like he doesnt like the smell of it. He eats his cat food with no problem. Its just a weird thing and I thought Id ask .

It seems pretty logical. Cats always land on their feet, toast always lands on its buttered side.

I have a cat that is pregnant. She is generally a very small cat and is now the size of a cantalope. She shows much discomfort yet no signs of labor. Now for the last three days she has been vomiting an extreme amount of food at a time. I need to know if this is common or if she is having some sort of complication. Anyone that can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

My nextdoor neighbour has recently hammered 200 2 inch nails along the top of the fence that divides our properties. When I asked him why he said it was to stop my cat from going in his garden. OK I thought. Even though this row of nails is right outside my sitting room window, I'm a tolerant person. A couple of weeks ago, he did a similar exercise at the bottom of our gardens but with the addition of lengths of strong fishing line. I've asked him to take down the fishing line as it could harm my cat if it got caught up. He refuses. He also told me that he classifies my cat as vermin.

We are in Britain where cats are protected and have the right to roam by law. He ownes the fence.

He has a pond with some fish - I think this is the problem. Or is it that he is just a tosser? The funny thing is he's about 60 years old and 5ft 4in tall. I think he's an evil bully. What do you think?

I spoke with the RSPCA today and tomorrow I will be asking him to take it down again.

All of a sudden two of my cats (who are outside cats) have started acting really weird - like they're drunk. They can't walk straight and it doesn't seem like they can see straight either. This just happened out of the blue - they were both fine the day before. It's been a couple of days and they are still no better... Can't afford a big vet bill - what should I do?

curious if anyone has used one of the automatic cat boxes and if they are happy or not, what the cost was, the brand, how often you need to change litter and or poop catcher... and any other info. Thanks.

The vet said once a month, but do you feel it can be used two or three times a month without hurting the cat, especially when the cat has a bad flea problem?

Whenever I have a book or paper on the table (reading or studying), my cat jumps up and lays on the book or paper. Is he just wanting my undivided attention or do cat's like the feel of paper?

that was out there for 4 days, I took him to the vet, he was given shots, checked for lukemeia, free of ear mites, and given a flea bath. The vet said he was now fine to bring indoors. So we decided to make him part of our family. Problem....later I saw a flea on him......we also have a puppy and kitten. Ok, so I used the flea medicine called frontline that I got from the vet. Now today, I saw another flea on him. Got all the animals and kids out of the house, scrubed the house and set off flea bombs. I dont know what else to do !!! This is grossing me out. The vet said not to use anymore flea medicine cause he can od on it, I hate to get rid of the poor cat, but I cannot handle fleas. Also, the cat has not ate in three days, I have tried dry and wet food. Any help anyone can offer would be great !! Why is he not eating? What do I do about the fleas? He does drink water, and uses the litter box, no poop yet tho.
