curious if anyone has used one of the automatic cat boxes and if they are happy or not, what the cost was, the brand, how often you need to change litter and or poop catcher... and any other info. Thanks.

Target sells them for about $90 -- worth every penny! We have three cats, and it's so nice not to have to change the littler box every couple of days (especially in this heat). With the clumping litter they don't smell like the traditional kind, which is really a HUGE plus. We don't change the catcher too often - just dump the "contents" into a plastic bag for garbage every day or so. You don't really every need to change the litter, you just add more to keep the level up. It is really a great thing -- our old cat (21+) even took to it right away.

If it broke, I'd buy another one - they're that good!

I love my Littermaid! It costs around $100.00. The receptacles is around 15.00 for 12. I do have 3 cats. I change the receptacle twice a week usually. I actually use less litter with the Littermaid than I did with regular litter boxes. My cats seem to really like it too. Its fresh every time they go to use it. Be sure to keep the sensors clean so it will function normally. Use clumping litter. It really has made that part of having a cat no big deal. Seal the recepticle and put in a new one...its as easy as that. Every once in a while you have to add litter......I love it!

I have 5 cats and my mom has 2 automatic litter boxes. They work really well. My 8 year old sister can take out the little plastic tray and put in the new one. It is really simple and cuts down odor a lot. It is worth it. And you change it depending on how many cats you have and how much they go. I hope this helps!

I don't have one but I have a friend who has one and one of her cats won't use it because it scares him so she has to have regular litter box as well. I don't think it's worth the money

it depends on how many cats you have. even with the extra large <> litter maid, it was loud, annoying, and filled up very quickley with 4 or 5 cats,...I cant remember how many we had at that time

if you can find a quiter brand go for it, if you only have two cats...most of them cant handle much more than that.

u must be really lazy to even contemplate it. How hard is it to scoop the poop once a day or even every 3 or 4 days? I have cats and i wouldn't waste my money on one of those stupid things.
