Do not give your cat aspirin. Talk to the vet about the arthritis. The eating / throwing up thing is just normal cat behavior.

DO NOT give your cat any aspirin. It destroys their livers and can be fatal within 24 hours!

I don't understand how a young cat can be suffering from arthritis anyway. I have a 22 yr old cat and she has arthritis!

You need to try a different food with your cat. Cats do best on a food with single source protein. CA Natural is chicken and rice, Natural Balance has a venison and pea. The NB also has another dry food that is mostly chicken (I think duck is there rather far down the list of ingredients). Most of the inexpensive foods are loading with corn which many cats are allergic to. At 13 pounds your cat is not bulemic she is overweight. Corn is very calorie dense (remember it is used to fatten slaughter animals who only have a life-span of less than two years).

Introducing new foods with cats is tricky as they are very fussy and turn their noses up at something new. Therefore, mix 3/4 old food with 1/4 new food for a week or ten days. Then move to 50% old 50% new for another period. Then do 3/4 new to 1/4 old for the same period. Then you can use the new food 100%. It takes about 3 weeks to make the switch. Just use a fairly large plastic container to make up your mixtures.

The food you serve your cat is important. Just like the food you eat and give to your children. Save money on toilet paper, cleaning products, etc. Don't try to save money on your cat's food!

what kind of food do you give her? some foods are harder for older cats to digest especially the dry foods. if you haven't already, try some can food like friskies or fancyfeast. I hear glucosamine can help with the arthritis.
