I have a cat that is pregnant. She is generally a very small cat and is now the size of a cantalope. She shows much discomfort yet no signs of labor. Now for the last three days she has been vomiting an extreme amount of food at a time. I need to know if this is common or if she is having some sort of complication. Anyone that can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

My cat is at least 60 days prego. The kittens are still moving fine but she has had no symptoms of labor. Her puking just recently started and she is larger than usual. I am wondering if it is from the pressure on her stomach from being to big or something else perhaps. I am going to call tomarrow but am hoping I would find someone who has had this happen to thier cat so maybe I can get an IDEA today!

Also I am aware of unwanted cats i et enough strays around here that I have taken in including this onr that is pregnant. I am doing my best to take care of these strays but I can only afford so many. In this small town there is no humane society available and the one that is about two hours away will not take in animals outside of thier county. As far as emergency i can not afford the vet fees for these animals that someone else has dumped off. I just simply wanted to see if anyone had any answers tonight. I AM CALLING IN THE MORNING when it is not emergency hours to get her help.

And YES I have had all these cats spayed/nuetered and they have had thier shots. They stay here until I can find them homes. I have found more than 30 cats good homes already. I have also unfortuneately had to bury 7 cats due to the main road in front of my house and they had noone to claim them so I have had to do this. So I would appreciate it if ya'll were not quite as harsh about things that realistically have nothing to do with this question. Being fixed is obviously the way to go but what most did not realize is that I do for cats that are not even mine. i did not state t his cause that was not part of my question. Now that the WHOLE STORY is out I hope someone can help me with a sincere answer and not a half hearted one. Thank you

Do not fret It is most likely that her babies are just pushing into her stomach and causing her to vomit. I read off the information to my local vet and this is the answer they have given me. So good luck with the mom to be and your upcoming kittens.

Even though its sunday emergency vets are open. Find one in your area and get the kitty checked out. Then when the kittens are weaned get your cat fixed so this doesnt happen again. There are enough unwanted cats in the world without people adding to the problem.

Your cat may be having the cat-form of morning sickness, something that most pregnant women experience. If this is the case, your cat should be fine. However, it may be some kind of complication, especially if your cat is more than eight weeks pregnant. You should immediatly go to your vet, the kittens' lives may be at stake, especially if your cat is puking all or most of her food. Your vet will know what the problem is and most likely be able to fix it.

Take her to the vet! And after she has her kittens, get her spayed.
