He bites when he is angry, he bites when he is happy. He will bite and hiss at me and then turn around and want affection...and then bite me again. He is not a kitten he is almost 3. He is a rescued cat,(rescued by us in December) so I do understand there is a the possibility that he was abused. Does anyone know a way that I can get him to quit this behavior?

My male cat has been neutered for almost 2 years. After neutering the spraying stopped and since then his bathroom behavior has been great. There is a small female cat that comes around our apt. lately, and I think she's old enough to be in heat. We pet this cat, my 2 yr. old girl loves her. My male cat has started pooping in front of our front door, three times now. Why would he change his bathroom habits so dramatically? Could it be he still has some hormones making him want the female cat that's in heat? Could it be a blatter or urinary tract infection? Or behavioral problems? The reason I don't think it's behavioral problems is we recently had to take in a family member's dalmation and he didn't act out then....why now? PLEASE HELP!!

My cat just started ripping at the screens with his nails, leaving holes. How pissed is he going to be if I rip his nails out. (as you can tell Iam against the whole idea).

We have lots of stray cats in our neighborhood. And every night couple of them come to do their "needs" in our small garden. I really don't know what to do to prevent them from jumping the high fence we have and use our garden for their needs. please help, the smell they leave is intolerable!

I want to produce a high quality/fidelity recording of my cat's purr by strapping a microphone to his side (or something). What type of microphone would be best for this purpose and where can I buy one? I know that you can buy (on the web) recordings of cats purring and I even bought one and it's great, but now I want to record my own cat's purr.

PS: I wasn't sure where to categorize this (?). I also asked it under Music.

I would like to feed her wet food exclusively, but I am gone 2 weekends a month. Will it mess with her stomach to feed her dry while I am gone?

I have a kitten that is about 8 weeks old. She was so sweet and nice until about a week ago. She hasstarted biting. First she would just bite the dog, playing, but now she bites all of us. How do I get the extra loving kitten back? Is this normal?

I have two cats, and I love them to death, but they pee everywhere.
They didn't do it at our old apartment, and in our new apartment, the carpets have been steam cleaned twice and the previous owners did not have cats, nor did the people before them.
They have been fixed, and I clean their cat box regularly. I have no idea what is wrong!!
An ex-friend told me that they have these things that are like Glade plug-ins that spread pleasing pheromones (sp?) that keep the cats from peeing, but I don't know what they're called. Does anyone else?
We haven't been able to set up a second litter box because there just isn't enough room here. Rubbing their noses in it doesn't help, and I am at my wits end!! I don't want to get rid of my cats, but I don't know what to do if they don't stop!!

what are the chances of a domesticated declawed tabby cat returning home ? she's been missing now for 6 days..
Just to let you all know, it wasn't me who had her declawed, it was her previous owner. I've done all the right things as to put posters up, talked to neighbours, animal shelters, vets...called to her, and still nothing. She has a collar with her name and number on it...She's been seen in 2 completely different parts once in the woods, another time across the highway (if it was her)
I thought cats stayed close to home? She is a beautiful girl and loved her family , but might be scared of strangers and will run from them, but does anyone think she may return home??

Seriously, I'd like a pet. My landlord does not allow dogs (I'm more a dog person than a cat person), so I have caved in to the notion of adopting a cat or kitten. HOWever, I tend to have a light allergic reaction (sneezing, but nothing crazy) to cats and was wondering if there was a breed of feline that might be hypoallergenic? Oh and I don't want a hairless cat! :)

My husband and I adopted two kittens last week (8 weeks old, neutered, have all their shots). They were both so playful and energetic all week, eating their food quickly and taking a small amount of time to sleep during the evening hours when we were around to play with them. During their first weekend with us (when we were both home and free to play), one of the kittens became very lethargic and sleepy, lost interest in playing most of the day, and started to eat less than before. He loves to be petted more than ever now and just wants to sit on my lap, mostly licking my fingers and arms as he relaxes. I do hear him running around a bit while we sleep at night, but his overall activity level has gone down a lot, especially as compared to his brother, who is just as active and hungry as before. Should I worry and / or take him to the vet or this just a case of disturbed and switched sleeping schedules?

I have two cats that eat out of one anothers bowls so I need to feed them the same cat food. One is a kitten (9 mos) and the other is an adult cat (6 years). I am currently feeding them Purina Kitten Chow & it's giving both cats VERY loose stools that have a horrendous odor. It gives the kitten horrible, horrible gas. Yes, it's funny to read but not when you have to live with it. Any suggestions on a good healthy cat food that they both can eat that might help the dirreaha/odor problems? Please don't suggest Iams, I refuse to buy from a pet food company that mistreats their animals they use for testing their food products.

Thanks for any suggestions you have!!
