I have a kitten that is about 8 weeks old. She was so sweet and nice until about a week ago. She hasstarted biting. First she would just bite the dog, playing, but now she bites all of us. How do I get the extra loving kitten back? Is this normal?

The problem here is that biting is a normal part of cat bonding behavior. The easiest way to stop this is to extinguish it. Play with your kitten, pet him etc. The very second he starts to bite, immediately stop, get up and move away from him. No matter what he does, pay no attention to him for several minutes.

Repeat this every time he bites. Eventually he will stop.

Biting the dog takes a little more effort to stop. Every time you witness him biting the dog, go pick the kitten up and walk into the bathroom. Put the kitten in the tub, shut off the lights and close the door, locking him in there. Leave him in there for ten minutes. Time out works on kittens as well as children.

Yeah it's completely normal for a kitten do that. My kitten does that too and she's 8 weeks too. Whenever she comes to bite you just say "NO" in a loud and firm voice and give her a toy to play with and bite. It's not the kittens fault she probably just thinks your hand is a toy but if that doesn't work just spray her with just a lil water and soon she will be trained.

The kitten is biting because she is teething. At 6 weeks, they are weaned from milk and develop teeth for eating solid food.

It is normal and you dont have to worry. Like most of the people who answered before said, it is a natural part of them growing up. They are learning to grow, play, live for the first time. In the wild that is how cats play, they have thicker skin then us so it seems like it would be a painful way to play but it's just their way of being kids. They will get back to being cuddly again if you continue to love and nurish your cat. Try using cat toys, especially one that is easy for your cat to chomp onto without you getting hurt.

*AND FOR YOU BIDDOG, THAT WAS TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR AND RUDE AND HOW WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF SOMEONE CUT YOUR HEAD OFF FOR PLAYING AROUND?!*
