If it is just a little bit, don't worry about it, it will come off eventually. If it is a water-based paint, just use some water and a washcloth and it will come out. You don't want to use turpentine or any paint remover... perhaps some scissors and a funny haircut for a while?

Shave the painted areas of the cat (this happened to a friend of mines pet at a frat party, he used a set of electric clippers, cat hair grows back in a few weeks). Using paint thinner or other chemicals can cause skin reactions or other harmful side effects.

I would say paint thinner, but you def. shouldn't put chemicals on them!!!
Try giving a bath and combing or brushing it out... You may have to shave kitty if that doesn't work, but s/he will be happy to be nakie in this heat!!!
