My sister's cats are hungry and there's no more cat food, and it's too late to go out for food. Can I use Special K cereal, or is that bad for them? What other household foods can I use then?

A good substitute is instant rice(prepared of course) mixed with tuna or boiled egg.

The answer is yes sexy dude as the strongest always survive don't they? I feel for all feral/stray cats as at one time perhaps they belonged to a person and I also feel for kittens as I know by experience that hungry cats will eat kittens especially when you have 100's of them living in one area, we had this problem in the UK where I live feral cats were being fed by patients in a Hospital and where the boilers were in the basement cats were breeding nonstop and the mother cats were often starving and ate their offspring. I ensured that all animal rescues got involved in trapping the poor creatures and a few were returned neutered/spayed because the do keep the mouse/rat population down. I would urge anyone getting a cat or kitten to make sure they can't reproduce.

Ummm, no! Special K does not stand for Special Kat. It is a human cereal full of grains. Stick to cat food and healthy holistic cat treats. Try growing catnip to leave out for the cat to chew on.

There should always be plenty of food available, really no excuse for running out. I always have an extra bag on hand and buy mine by the case. Sheesh - feed them something, tuna, turkey, chicken just make sure it's cooked properly and not raw.

Doesn't your local gas station have cat food?

Tuna or Milk is a good thing you can feed them if you don't have any cat food, we have that problem at the end of every month, so I normally cut back on Tuna and Milk intake so they have something to eat as I eat too much already lol >.<

If you ran out of food for yourself would you eat cat food?

SAME THING. Answer is no. Get some cat food.

Alternatively, scrambled eggs (made with milk and eggs only) will do if they are starving.

Cats prefer high protein foods such as meat or eggs. Cereal is mostly carbohydrate, not especially good for cats.

Maybe any kind of meat!!!!!!! Or they can wait until tomorrow. A cat can live overnight without food.

I doubt they would eat Special K.

Tuna or any kind of fish or lean meat is a decent substitute. Don't feed them cereal.
