Just to let you all know, it wasn't me who had her declawed, it was her previous owner. I've done all the right things as to put posters up, talked to neighbours, animal shelters, vets...called to her, and still nothing. She has a collar with her name and number on it...She's been seen in 2 completely different parts once in the woods, another time across the highway (if it was her)
I thought cats stayed close to home? She is a beautiful girl and loved her family , but might be scared of strangers and will run from them, but does anyone think she may return home??

Don't give up hope just yet. Cats are pretty savvy. I have a blind cat who was gone for THREE WEEKS in the woods and returned safely, god only knows how. Leave food and water out and keep calling at regular intervals during the day and keep checking with your neighbors. You're doing all the right things. Even though it's been five days, it can take a while. It always helps to send positive love and energy and thought vibrations and call her to you (or pray, if that's the name you call it). I'll be thinking of you. Come home, pretty girl!

Don't give up hope! Once a cat was missing for close to a month and it was found oddly enough crying in the backyard. You can post a lost notice on Petfinder.com, alert your postal carrier to keep an eye out for her. Put a lost notice in your local paper. If she's shy and not used to being outside, she is probably hiding somewhere where she feels safe. Unless she's found food and water she may be very weak. Keep going out calling her name as you look for her. Set some food outside your door, of course if you have strays they may take advantage of the food, but it's worth a try. Neighborhood kids always seem to know where to look, offer a movie pass to any kid that will help you find her. Above all, don't give up. Good Luck

It's possible...I had a cat get out unknowingly one day and she was gone for over 2 weeks. Came home one night and there she was on the porch waiting to go in...skinny as could be. She's a beautiful and social girl so someone might have taken her and then she escaped. Hopefully your kitty makes it back too.
Oh, make sure you put water outside in case she makes it back home but you are not there and she is hiding near by.

Most cats will not wander far. Your cat might have been chased or frightened into running. Cats tend to hunker down and hide when they are in an unusual situation. One good way to search for your cat is to go out at night with a flashlight. Look in every ones backyard (be careful), look under cars, behind everything with your light and check out every pair of eyes that shine back at you. Its easy for them to stay hidden in the day time. All they need to do is stay where they are. If they are watching you at night though and your light catches their eyes there is no way for them to hide the reflection.

it's more likely that your cat would come home that lets say a dog. Your cat is more inclined to want to come back to it's home. And you know as well as I do it knows that your it's home. Don't be surprized if you cat comes back a little beaten up. Life is wild out there when it gets dark.
Don't forget to check your local animal shelters and animal found posters on public message boards.

My cat hid in the woods behind my house for about 5 days once. Her favorite dry food in a dish was the factor in her return. i would rattle it in the dish while calling gently to her, hunger is a powerful motivator. good luck.

Most cats can find their way back home, so leave food and water out for her. Check animal shelters and hang up signs. I hope she comes back to you!

It is possible. Sometimes they get locked in other peoples garages or sheds or things like that. Keep knocking on doors, calling her, all that stuff.
How long have you had her?

She might still return home. You've done everything you could, now comes the hard part - waiting.
