Im thinkin bout gettin a parrot but dont have the money to spend like 1,000 bucks on one?????????

I have been watching a small sparrow the last couple of months around my feeder. He was always left setting on the fence when the other birds left for the day. He would go after they left go set in the feeder and eat. After he got his fill he would go stand on the fence in the vines. He is still here and right at the minute setting in the feeder. He will go back to the vines for the night. I have went out there many times and he will fly away but always comes back. I have let the feeder run empty and he just hangs out on the fence. So I guess I could starve him to death or he will freeze this winter.

I do have an extra bird cage and have thought about setting a trap. Keep him inside till spring and let him back out.

Any ideas?

And for the super smart brains out there with the quick kill it answers.... Just keep it to your self. OK.. If you want to take the time to explain why I should kill it then I’ll read it. If it is just a smart answer to get points I will have to report it.

I have a huge cage i purchased. But no macaw yet I would like to be very knowledgeable before buying a parrot I have done a lot of studying but would like more info and good web sites to look up. I want to know what I am doing before buying my friend for life. I have ben talking to a breeder who is going to train me but the more info the better.

My budgie Buba just stands there opening and closing his wings, I have never seen him do this before in 5 years? I am wondering if he is just showing off. I just got a new budgie named Bandit, and his wings are clipped. Do you think Buba is just showing off saying look how nice my wings are? It is very funny to watch. Has anyone seen this before?

I don't know what to do with her. She will have 5, lay on them for 3 or 4 weeks, then regect them. I take them out and a week later, she is laying again! I have tried keeping her covered up, I hardly play with her, probably less than 10min a day. I am afraid it will harm her. Anyone know what I can do? We don't have a bird vet around here...

my male cockatile who has been raising (4) 1 month old babies with the female very well. Feeding them laying on the eggs, EX.. But now he is pulling the little frathers out of the babies and its bothersum to me. and the babies dont like it much either. my husband says he knows whats hes doing maybe a mite is on them or something. well thats not satisfying me. he does it to much. so is this normal or is it his time to fly the coop

I got a young fancy budgie yesterday and ever since he or she got here it has been like hyper ventilating, pumping fast, opening mouth with the movement. He or she relaxed during the evening but started again. I am new at learning their temperament but it's beginning to worry me. He or she has a very big cage and everything they need to feel right at home, beautiful environment. I talked and try to socialize as well as keeping my distance for he or she to get adjusted until his or her friend join after the weekend of Thanksgiving. What should I do???

There is 3 birds in the cage 2 of the birds are the parents and the other 1 is the dads brother. What should I do with the dads brother? The brother hasn't had any agressive attitude near the eggs yet. What should I do? Please help me.
Im scared for the eggs and the parents.
