Hi I have a pet blue and gold Macaw. He is 7 months old and we have had him for about 4 months. He is really good but every now and again he just bites down really hard on your hand for no reason. I really don't know why he is doing it because nothing has changed. When he does it we hold his beak and tell him no and then put him back on his cage. This doesn't seem to be working though. Does anyone have any other suggestions???
Thanks

I have a blue-fronted amazon parrot and a cockatoo. During the day when I am home I put them in their play cage outback on my deck. However lately I have been noticing that the 'wild' doves are making themselves known to my 'babies' sitting on the fence and cooing to them... it is actually cute. I am sure it is just because they want the seed and food they have in the cage, but I am afraid that if they continue to be friendly that they may try to get into their cage or have contact with my birds. I am worried if they can transmit any type of diseases to my birds? If so what? Any information would be greatly appreciated.. How can I keep them away from their cage... (and no answer like shoot the doves).. Thank you

I'm sitting there at the bus stop and I started to wonder why birds don't get killed by a live power wire--channeling in 10,000+ volts of electricity.

Does anyone know?

There are pigeons living by my neighbor's tree. Every morning, they, as a group, would fly in a circle a couple of times. Then, they would collectively sit back down in spot in the tree. A few minutes later, they would do the same thing. Why do they do that?

We have two cockatiels in a cage in our dining room. I am constantly cleaning bird seed, feathers, dander from the shelves and tables and vents in that room. How do most people deal with pet birds and still keep the house clean. My house feels disgusting...I dont have time to dust and wash that room everyday...any ideas from other bird owners???

I live near a small wooded area in the country where crows roost, every evening thousands (not exaggerating) of them gather and fly in cirles around the sky, they also fly in groups towards eachother but never seem to crash. This fascinates us all in the house every evening. Any ideas why they do it????

the towel I had her wrapped in. One of the claws came off, and I can't get it to stop bleeding. I've tried pinching it, putting styptic powder (i use cornstarch) on it, etc, and it won't stop bleeding... I don't think she'll live thru the night but I can't afford an emergency vet on a sunday night--even for euthanizing her... Any advice would be helpful, esp from vets and bird people!
