theres this peigon in my apt. complex that is hurt, its wing is broken, it cant fly & can barely move , its been standing in the same area for over a week, i know its just a peigon not even a pet, but i dont want it to just be in pain until it dies cos it wont die until something bigger kills it most likely, so...yea idk if animal shelters would help though cos they usually help pets, like dogs & cats, does n e one know of any shelters that will care for it? im in phx az.....

I have a pied female cockatiel and she always begs for the food that i'm eating. I always give her the food, but I don't give her any junk food though. She is so spoiled. I'm trying to find new things for my cockatiels to eat, besides bird food.

I have 4 cockatiels. One is a male and the other 3 are females. He is nice to 2 of them, but he is very aggressive towards the pied female. Whenever I try to take him out he tries to bite me.

I suffer from Ornithophobia fear of birds espciall magpies and there more to the point the flapping noise. We have a magpie building a nest in the tree in the back yard right near the cloths line I don't have a cloths drier. What I want to know is if I wear a cap when hanging out the cloths will the magpie still swoop me or is the idea of wearing a cap hat turn them off altogether or is the idea of wearing a cap just protects me if the magpie did swoop me. I don't want to be swooped again as I fear this will be a big set back if it was to happen.

My bird has these strange "seizues" periodically. He is totally unresponsive - usually, he is very territorial but when he is having a "seizure," he is not and doesn't care if you touch him. When you pick him up, he feels like a dead weight. Usually these seizures last for 10-15 minutes, then he is perfectly normal again. A few nights ago, however, he was thrashing around the bottom of his cage.. he had lost his balance and his head was tilted back. we took him out of his cage and he started closing his eyes and turning his head slightly to the side. We thought this was the end, but he was still breathing. We put him in a shoebox and covered it so he could rest without hurting himself. About an hour later, we heard chirping and he was completely back to normal.

I know something must be wrong with him -- does anybody know what it could be?

I bought a new pied cockatiel today, he is about 8 weeks old, still a baby, and he will not really do anything. He will just sit there in the cage, and when I try to pet him, he will hiss at me and fly all over the cage. I haven't seen him eat, but I just got him a few hours ago, I just want to know the best way to make my new pet feel at home. I have another 7 year old boy cockatiel, which I thought would help the bird feel better. What else can I do?

I also have a African Gray that loves taking a shower. But the water beads and runs off of him. He doesn't get soak. Was wondering if this was normal for a Cockatoo.
