A bird.

Almost everything about the orchard oriole is small and compact—it has a short straight bill, at least by oriole standards, and a rather short and straight tail. The adult male orchard oriole is chestnut brown overall, with a black hood. Females are fairly plain yellow with whitish wing bars.

Orchard orioles range over much of the United States and southern Canada from the Great Plains east to the Atlantic Ocean. They are locally common in suburban shade trees and orchards.

Their song is a lively warbling with a wide pitch range, ending in a distinctive, ringing pli titi zheeeer. The common call of the male is a clear whistled tweeo. Calls also include a low, soft chut.

A bird,A Baltimore Oriole!

In America orioles are members of the icteridae family, which is the same family as blackbirds. There are several varieties, depending on what part of the country you live in. The best known species is the Baltimore Oriole, which the baseball team is named after. Other species in the US include Orchard, Bullocks, Scott's, Hooded, Altamira and Audubon's.

Orioles eat fruit and insects. They are brightly colored with males being either brilliant orange and black, as in the case of Baltimores, Bullocks, Altamira and Hoodeds, or bright yellow and black, as in Scott's and Audubon's. The one exception is the Orchard Oriole which is a chestnut brown. They are mostly summer residents, migrating south in winter. In the Rio Grande Valley and Arizona some birds are present all year.

Its possible to attract Orioles to your yard by feeding sugar water, like you would to hummingbirds, or by putting out cups of grape jelly. At Bentsen State Park in the Rio Grande Valley I have seen people feeding them marshmallows stuck on twigs of trees! They will also come in to orange or grapefruit halves stuck on branches.

A bird. More specifically, it's a black/yellow-colored bird. You could just have Googled "oriole" and seen it for yourself. :-\
