I have a lab/pitt mix almost 2 and a 4month Rott. Both males. The mix is fixed but the pup isn't yet. As of right now they get along well, the play together with tug toys etc. Once in a while they get too into the growling and jumping I separate them or redirect them with toys (when they mouth each other) SO far so good. Last time for the first time when the pup got rough, the older one snapped at him, and then this morning when the old guy was eating he growled at the pup, the pup backed off, but that has NEVER happen. The pup is enrolled in puppy class and thus far I have been unable to get the mix in classes because he DOES NOT like being on a lead around other dogs, tends to get nasty. ok the question I have for anyone out there really knowing about having two males dogs together, can two males dogs be happy with each other? Yes Im planning on getting the pup fixed, and yes I spend lots of time with them.

I am posting another question too under puppy biting

Is it because you see ppl using leverage bits that don't know what they are doing or their horses weren't properly trained for it? *I agree, have seen that myself*

I see alot of questions or answers involving, keeping them in a snaffle.

While I have no problems with that, my guys are shown and have to be in a bridle bit by the time they are 6. But my guys are trained to them by that time and I have no problems with leverage bits. Of course they aren't in spades etc, but I do think its awesome to see a well trained horse in a spade.

So why do some think leverage bits are bad?

What are your thoughts on leverage bits on 2-4 yr olds?

I don't go to leverage until they are ready but they usually have a good year or 2 in the snaffle.

Why is it that my dogs, which weight about 15 pounds each, have a life expectancy of 14 or 15 years but a dog that weights nearly 100 pounds would have a life expectancy of maybe 8 years?

Some of the readers might remember me from yesterday, i posted a question that said my dog was sick. i couldnt take her to the vet because it was sunday and it was about 8:00pm and most bussinesses are closed at that time in chicago, so i just rubbed her try to make her feel better but she kept trying to walk around but couldnt even do that she just kept falling so i put a blanket over her hoping she would calm down until the morning when i took her to the vet. But when the morning came it was too late. she had already passed away....what is so strange is that i have another peckingnese that is much older then her and has been through much more then her, he even got his eye knocked out by another dog when the daycare let some dog half his size come near him. but my question really is what do you think happened to her. she had all her shots, i washed her, fed her everyday. what is so strange is she was acting just fine the day before please help me out.

I swore I would never do this, but these cats are tearing up everything. My husband wants to get rid of them if we don't get them declawed. After my mom got her cat declawed, the cat started hiding from everyone. He is 6 now and still is very frighty over everyone. Any advice?

I have a hand tamed cockatiel but I worry that she's lonely by herself. Could I get a tame parakeet and keep them together in the same cage?

My beagle is three months old, he sleeps in a crate in my son’s room and he barks ALL. NIGHT. LONG. I have him in training currently with Barkbusters and he has shown so much improvement in his problematic behaviors in only one session so far but I cannot get him to stop his night time barking. He does not respond to my verbal reprimand (Barkbusters teaches us to use the “Bahhh” command along with a training aid that is thrown at his feet – which by the way, does not frighten him like it’s supposed to he just wants to play with it) and he just keeps on keepin’ on. I am exhausted, my son sleeps on the couch and I don’t know what else to do. Yes, I knew that beagles are vocal when I got one so I don’t need to hear people tell me I should have known, I ALSO know that beagles can be trained to NOT bark, I am just not sure what to do in the meantime, especially when my little guy is so non-responsive. We work with him all the time in many areas, we just can’t seem to address this one in a manner in which my beagle boy understands. I don’t want to desensitize him to my reprimands either by doing that all night long. I have tried putting music on, giving him a KONG bone, stuffing a shirt of mine in there for him to smell, taking him outside to go potty, getting angry and still nothing. Can I use a muzzle on him from like 2 am until 6 am or is that awful? Please help I just want a little sleep!

I don't agree with the thought that it is safe it is a pesticide!
I have researched and found it is not safe I am posting a link and you can make the decisions for your self. While seizures can be genetic . But there are to many animals getting sick. Please read all the posts they started in 2002 and go to the present.

Should I switch her food again? I cant take her to the vet quite yet because of money I need her to hold on I need to find a solution

I have a parakeet about 3 years old and recently i noticed a small bump coming from the top of his beak, almost right on his left side nostril.. its red, not looking bad tho or looking like it bothers him. He really doesnt even seem to notice it.. but i just dont know whether to worry or not...

My pet house rabbit is now 16/17 weeks old. He usually has pellets, fresh water and as much hay as he wants daily. He has had a couple of rabbit treats over the past week.

Today he has managed to escape from his hutch and has munched on banana & orange out of the fruit bowl (left apple & pineapple) he has eaten a few leafs from my house plant (Madagascian dragon tree) a few pieces of chocolate out of the selection box he demolished, as well as my electric bill and a pair of shoe laces. He also peed on every chair of a leather settee. Ate/shredded tinsel and managed to get some baubles off tree!

He is fine and doesnt seem to be ill in fact he is extremely lively or is he hiding any potential illness?. Should i now be introducing fruits veg to his diet? I thought he wouldnt/shouldnt eat chocolate? I have phoned the vet and left message but he has not got back to me so thought would ask here. He has not had any vaccinations yet either as booked in next week. Thanks for your advice
