If he's young, he shouldn't be going into brumation yet.

There's a list of questions I would need to know about your husbandry to see what the problem might be.

If you're taking care of him according to instructions from a pet store, most likely you're doing it WRONG and will cause health problems in your pet!

What type of substrate is he on?
Acceptable: Non-adhesive shelf liner, slate or rock tiles, newpaper, butcher paper, paper towels

NOT acceptable: Calci-sand, Repti-sand or most substrates pet stores sell. Anything that is made up of small particles.

What are your temps and how do you measure them?
His basking site should be around 105 and the cooler side of the tank should be around 80. You should be using a digital thermometer with the probe directly on the basking site for accurate measurements. The stick on and dial type thermometers are no good, as they can be up to 20 degrees off!

What kind of lights do you use?
You should have a basking light (a regular household bulb 75W, 100W or whatever it takes to get your basking site up to temp)
You should also have a UVB bulb. The Compact Florescent UVB bulb (the coil type) is NO GOOD and can cause harm to your beardie!! If you have one, TOSS IT OUT NOW! NO UVB is better than that bulb.
Also, there are some negative reports about Repti-GLO 10.0 ReptiGLO 8.0 is fine. Best is Reptisun 10.0. These will be the long tube florescent type bulbs.

What do you feed him and how often?
A baby should have greens available all day. Not lettuce, but Mustard, Turnip, Collard greens. Squash, Peppers, other healthy veggies.
A baby should also have crickets (or hornworms, phoenix worms) fed 2-3 times a day, as many as he can eat in about 15 minutes. The prey food should be no bigger than the space between your beardie's eyes.

These are just the basics, but there is so much more!!
