I have a parakeet about 3 years old and recently i noticed a small bump coming from the top of his beak, almost right on his left side nostril.. its red, not looking bad tho or looking like it bothers him. He really doesnt even seem to notice it.. but i just dont know whether to worry or not...

Anyone know what it is, what could of caused it, or should I worry???

A brain tumor on the exterior of his body? Ugg, that doesn't make sense. Has your bird bumped into anything when flying around? Do you have any other birds or pets that could have done something to him? Is there any chance he could have pinched this area somehow in his cage or on a toy? Try to think of every possibility.

Either way, this does sound extremely serious. Please get him to an avian vet immediately. Good luck!

You should be pretty worried at this stage. I work at the Richmond Veterinary Clinic in Melbourne, Australia and the symptoms you have listed are that of a brain tumor. If you do not do something about it, I wouldn't be surprised if your parakeet died within the next few days. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Take him to the vet. It's your best option. It's some sort of infection and if not treated can it alot worse..
