My fiance and I are thinking about opening an indoor dog park in our area in the near future. We live in an apt. so we take our puppy to the outdoor dog parks as much as we can but none of them have lights and with our schedules in the winter it makes it harder to take our puppy for a good long trip. So we have been thinking about opening an indoor dog park/doggie day care but are unsure if people would use it due to the amount of free parks that are around. It is in the beginning stages so we don't have a price set or anything but would most likely offer month and year memberships and session prices as well. How much would you pay to take your dog to a nice indoor dog park?

Whenever my Chihuahua/Beagle mix goes pee somewhere, my Rottweiler pretty much knocks her out of the way, almost before she's done, just so she can pee over that spot, why does she do this?

Doesn't matter what kind of jellyfish, but I think it would be rather beautiful in a tank

Ok so I'm going to get flamed for this but I am a reputable breeder, I have references etc do all health checks, vet check all homes, take all puppies back if the owners can't keep them, would offer to take all puppies back if I ever found out that one of my dogs I've bred from had a hereditary problem, never breed more that one litter every three-four years, not just for the dogs but so I know if I did need to take all puppies back for whatever reason I could! etc. etc.

But I had to start somewhere and so did all other breeders.

So why are all 'new' breeders called BYB's? We were all new at somepoint and I know your all going to tell me about the problem in Rescue centres but I'm NOT contributing to that because all my dogs are sold with a contract saying they're to be returned to me and I have regular contact with rescue centres to ensure none of my pups end up there.

I know there are some people on here who shouldn't be breeding but why everyone?

My dog ben (15yo welsh border collie) was diagnosed with vestibular syndrome 2 weeks ago. Although he has made a remarkable recovery, he still wont eat from his bowl and he has to be hand fed. He will drink water from a bowl but not eat. The vet said this was a bit strange as it is usually down to the fine motor skills not working properly which is why the dont eat or drinkfrom a bowl, but he IS drinking just not eating. Any tips please.

I've got a 15 month himalayan and 6 month old stray, both female. They've been living together for about 1.5 months now. At first they would hiss at each other but now they eat together, hang out on the bed together, and chase each other around. Sometimes their "playing" gets rather physical--they wrestle and grab each other and get all wrapped up and then one might get away and lunge again for a new grab or one might run away and the other gives chase and grabs them and they get all tied up again. It looks like two wrestlers hug eachother tightly. Is this normal? Should it be encouraged or discouraged?

My cat is currently on "Perscription Diet" dry food from my Vet because he had these red dots on his gums due to plaque. I'd like to switch him back to Whiskas for 2 reasons:

1. The Vet's stuff is ridiculously expensive.
2. He wastes alot of it. It comes in large bites and he tends to break some into little pieces then refuses to eat the broken pieces. He usually end ups with half a dish of broken un-eatabe pieces within a few days that I just have to end up throwing them out.

Should I switch it or not?

I just went to my first vet appointment with my girl at a new vet. It was highly recommended by a few people that I talk to, and I found that the woman was excellent in ensuring that I didn't get any unnecessary vaccinations, and also clipped her nails for free! (Most vets around here charge an easy $30 for that simple service!). The only thing I found discouraging was the way they approached the food and the propeganda I got from it. She recommended rawhide that was pressed or in sheets (which I am strongly against because of the large number of obstructions and tears it creates every year), and in the "puppy package" I recieved, it was mainly a Science Diet propeganda bag. When I told her what I was feeding the dog, as well (Eagle Pack Holistic for Large Breeds), she tried to pawn off SD on me!

I want to go back, as she treated my dog well, but I am nervous now that she will try to sell me other junk just as "healthy" as SD. In the puppy bag was literature, treats, etc by SD...

2 of my 3 dogs hate each other so i have to keep them separated at all times. this makes for a very stressful existence. big fight today, they are both at the vets. the living room is a wreck. i'm a wreck. i can't get rid of either of them though so i guess i have about 10 more years of this left. don't say get rid of one of them, i can't, i'm not really complaining, just wondering, does anybody else have this problem?

i have a purebred doberman who is a year old now, his name is Isaak. i have papers for him, i just havent registered him yet, he is very hyper all the time, and doesnt seem to listen to me very well. he still gets into things after i just told him No. its like he has ADHD or something, lol!! i get very frustrated with him becuase he doesnt listen! ive trained 3 other dogs, i also had a doberman before the one i have now, and he listened. they all had the same training, such as useing the word "NO". they all learned except the doberman that i have now, Isaak! i thought about nuetering him, i know it "may" help calm him down a bit, plus if i nueter he will a lesser risk of getting cancer. BUT, im not sure if i want to nueter him, since ive spent over $600 on him, i may want to have a few litters of pups later down the rode. i dont know what to do!! what should i do???

i also dont know if it is worth registering him with AKC if iam going to nueter him, shoulld i still register him???

Ok this has been an ongoing problem since she was a puppy. We have easily spent a grand on new beds. But now matter how many times I wash the beds, she pees in there. Not a full pee, but just a squirt. She only does this at night when we're sleeping. Her last time to go out is usually 1am and then she goes out again at 8am. Theres no reason for her not to be able to hold her urine. Vet has checked her out and can find no medical reasons. She's spayed. I am only getting more concerned about this because we are getting another bulldog in a week? Anyone have any similiar situatiosn?

On December 6th my pekingese was diagnosed with an ulcer on his left eye by my vet. He was prescribed an ointment that needed to be put in two-three times a day. Last night I noticed a white gooey substance on his eye and when I got a closer look, it looked like a bubble was in his eye. I went to put more ointment directly on the bubble and it burst and a clear liquid came out. I called the vet and they want me to bring him back in. Does anyone have an idea what is going on with his eye?
