She threw it up and I can't figure out why she would eat it in the first place.

It wasn't a small toy. She somehow had it smashed nto a ball. The odd thing is it wasn't broken.

Lol. They dont intentionally eat it. Dogs just put absolutely everything and anything in their mouth. She didnt eat it coz it was tasty, it was just fun to chew on and play with.

Well. If it's a young puppy this is probably just something she was curious about. If it happens again, take her small toys away and give her bigger ones that aren't easy to swallow. If she continually tries to swallow other objects she may need a visit to the vet. My mum's boyfriend has a Basset Hound that has a habit of eating rocks. The vet said that he will never learn. Gunny has cost a lot of money in surgeries. We decided to buy a muzzle for him which we take off when he comes inside and we're able to watch him. Most likely this was just a one time thing for your dog though and she has probably learned from her mistake.

If she can swallow it it TOO SMALL FOR HER TO HAVE.
Get bigger items. Those balls that you can put treats into are wonderful. Entertaining and delivers a treat. How good is that.

was likely to be an accident, ideally a toy should not be small enough for them to swallow.

She may have been chewing on it and accidently swallowed it, nothing to worry about if its back out.

Dogs like to eat things. I don't know why, but it's just what they do.

While she was chewing it she might have accidentally swallowed it, or it might have had food on it or she might have thought it was food.
