My Jack Russell Terrier has recently began to itch badly. I use on a monthly basis one of the top products available, also, recommended by my veteranarian, to kill fleas and ticks. However, I have gotten off of him a few fleas, and ticks, two including two deeply embedded in the past week. I know the product (suppose to) kill them within so many hours, but would like to find a way to repel them from getting on him in the first place. I know feeding a little piece of garlic in food has been one option around for years, but would like to ask if anyone has any other ideas. I know through the years I've heard of some other ideas, but can't recall them. I have had no problem since I got him a year and a half ago, until now. Help! He's scratching so bad. Have also, bathed him in anti-itch shampoo. Am guessing, he might also be allergic to fleas since it's so bad, and have found so few actually on him. Am, also planning on treating my yard next week, and am aware to keep him off of it.
