My dog, CocoaLatte is a fat chocolate lab. My family loves her so much, but she is fat because she begs (in her own way) for food. She barks at my mom - particulary when my mom is on a work phone call, she's most vulnerable then - so she is forced to give her a bone. Now, her being 6 in human years and 42 in doggy years, I am concerned about her health. Advise?

This is not a question. I want to honor my beautiful 10 year old Calico, Sabrina, by telling you on this website that she died tonight. Just a while ago. She was very healthy so it was not illness that killed her. It was a car. She has NEVER gone out in the street but tonight something possessed her to do so and a car got her. She was the sweetest cat I ever had, a real lap cat to be sure. So please say a little prayer for her if you would so she makes it to kitty heaven and maybe I'll see her again some day.

I have a pure bred dog that wasn't suppose to be fertile. I was planning on getting her spayed a couple of months ago but kept putting it off because the vet said she likely couldn't get pregnant anymore. I've had her for 2 years and she has been in heat 3 times around my male of the same breed but hasn't become pregnant until now. She has had 2 litters of puppies in the past before i got her. She is 6 years old. I didn't bother writing down the date when she came into heat last time thinking she couldn't get pregnant. I never saw them tie either. I realized she was getting fat 2 weeks ago. I took her to the vet the next day and she had an ultrasound and had gained 3 lbs. The Vet guessed she was about 30 days along. So i'm guessing her delivery date is Dec.10. But today i noticed she's beginning to lactate.

I had a tank with several bala sharks, catfish, kissing Gouriami. One bala shark had a white cloud like thing over one eye. Then there were white patches on skin (I don't think its ich because they are not small salt-like grains). Also, where the fins connect to the body it is red. 5 bala sharks have died and the 2 catfish are about too. I have done a water change, added salt, and Melafix. The catfish's whiskers are also falling off. On one of the bala sharks and now one of the catfish, it looks like the front part of their nose is deteriorating.Also, on the bala sharks, it looked like there was a whitish-clear film over the gills and the gills were mostly covered in it. Please help, as they do not seem to be getting better. I am looking for possible causes, treatments, and a diagnosis. So far I have thought it might be ich, bacteria, etc. Nothing seems to fit!

I recently got my friends mastiff pup. The last one that survived. The mother killed the other 3. No, the mom normally does not have a mean bone in her body. (we both don't know why this happened) Anyways, she gave him to me because she was afraid mama might try to kill this one too. I started him on milk supplement mixed with all natural no byproduct, chemical, etc... nutro puppy food. I feed him 4 times a day now I make the milk and warm it up and then in a blender mix the puppy food to about oatmeal consistency with the milk. Does this sound about right???

soooo OMG! i guess its been about 2 weeks since i cleaned out the box in my bunnies hutch. it has been raining alot here and my bunnies are spending alot of time in the box. they are wet with pee! they smell SOOOOOO bad and i really love to snuggle them, but not when they're soaking wet with..... PEE! so i really need to give them a bath. can i do this? what percautions should i take and stuff and what can happen? please answer quick, i love holding my bun buns!

I don't know whether it's true or not but I heard that when a Long hair chihuahua poops, sometimes the poop gets stuck on their hair near the anus and requires the owner to clean it.

I hope it doesn't happen frequently because I'm not interested in doing that :/

Tank Info:
I currently have a 29 gallon community tank. Tank has lots of hiding places, caves, driftwood and some plants (will add more plants in the future)
w/
2 large sailfin mollies
3 cherry barbs
1 corydora (plan to get 1-2 more)
1 clown pleco

Now for my next group of fish i am wondering on who to get...

I was thinking maybe some swordtails but then again want something more "special" and this is where the dwarf cichlids come in. Would rams (bolivian/blue) or kribs be okay in tank with the other fish? (better yet will the other fish be okay with the ram/krib in it)
I recently had some young albino paradise fish and they were just crazy, being greedy with the food, chasing each other and the molly so i decided to give them back. Would the ram/krib be as "aggressive" as the paradise fish?

My dog Molly is a medium sized beagle mix that was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease a couple years back. She is currently taking Prednisone and has gained quite a bit of weight. She has a beagle body with skinny damatian legs. Her weight gain has put a strain on her legs and she recently tore her ACL. The vet told us that surgery was the only fix, but that they wouldn't be able to perform surgery because of her autoimmune. The vet said that it could cause the disease to come back again. Right now i am not taking her on walks and trying to keep her from moving her leg as much as i can.
I feel really bad for Molly and want to make her as comfortable as possible. Is there anything I can do to heal her ACL without surgery or just make her more comfortable? Will she get worse like this? I love this dog a lot and any information would be very helpful!

I'm getting a new black lab puppy, and I want to name him Honkey. Wondering if this is inappropriate. I am a white fella, so I'm only marginally apprehensive about yelling, "Let's go, Honkey!" or "Honkey, come!" or "Bad Honkey!!" I have a 25 gallon coldwater tank with 10 white cloud mountain minnows and 2 hillstream / butterfly loaches.(they are fed algae wafers so algae on tank is not an issue) The temps are for wcmm 19 to 24 and hillstreams 19 to 24 but the temp in my tank is a steady 21 to 23 always. It has wood in it for the loaches, a plant thats edible and a air pump. it also has overfiltration by a long way (a 35 to 40gal tank filter and a 10 gal tank small filter).

ok so finally heres the question-
I would like another loner fish to put in to vary it, however it must be ok at the temps and fine with the fish i have. please advise me another type of fish (just one or if its ok 2) that i could put in, preferabley not small like a wcmm.

My 2 year old Roborovski hamster is running in circles like she is retarded and I am worried because she is having trouble getting to her food and water because she can't go in a straight line. What is the most likely cause and the best course of action?

My cat has tapeworms from what I have researched and I am calling my vet tomorrow. What if they touch you or get on you can they go through your skin? I had one on me and did not know what it was til I saw one on my cat when she was laying beside me, I washed my hands and put alcohol on my hand as soon as it happened. From what I understand the only way a human can get a tapeworm is by ingesting a flea with a tapeworm. Can someone please answer my question?? We do not have fleas, but they like to eat bugs that come in from the outside, but my mom does visit me at my house could it have been possible a flea was brought in with her? I have a 15 month old daughter and this is gross so some advice would be nice please!
