One female flea will produce 25,000 offspring in one month. Read the article I linked for you. That should answer your questions.

Don't bathe the dogs at all, that is not the way to treat fleas. Flea shampoos don't work.

You'll never get all the fleas off by bathing or picking them off. For one thing, female fleas can lay hundreds of fleas within an hour of being on your animal/within your house, and these can hatch within a few hours in optimum conditions. Flea eggs and larvae are also microscopic, so you won't be able to see them to pick them off, you need to KILL them.

Get a proper flea treatment from a vets - Frontline, Advantage, or Revolution. These are spot-ons, you do not need to bath the animal (and in fact you shouldn't within 48 hours before or after applying a spot-on, or it won't work) and will protect your dogs against fleas for at least a month.

In just thirty days, 25 adult female fleas can multiply to as many as a quarter of a million fleas!

you dont "bathe" fleas away....they have to be treated. I suggest using a topical preventative. It will not only break their life cycle but prevent any future infestation of your dog.

Advantage is very agressive against fleas.

well seeing as how one female lays thousands of eggs...

best to invest in a good topical flea control such as advantage or frontline and have your house treated.
