Use a damp cloth to clean the discharge from it's eyes - but if this does not clear up in a few days I would have a vet check him out.

I just pick it off every day. That's what my vet said to do. Then you don't need to worry about stain removers. If you already have a build up, cut if off carefully with scissors.
Some breeds just have naturally teary eyes. If your puppy has shihtzu in it, that could be the source.
The next time you are at the vet, ask about the eye discharge.

as long as its not green then dont worry just keep wiping away the boogers. People will probably tell you to get some kind of cosmetic thing for your dog that keeps the boogers from staining the coat but seriously its a dog dogs have boogers why put some chemical on them?? o.O in my opinion its unnatural just stick with wiping

Warm damp wash rag to loosen it up so you can wipe it away...then a trip to the vet would be good in case there is an infection.
