I wouldn't count on a Siamese cat to get along with anything.

Yes they can get along my mom actually has 3 Chihuahuas and a couple cats (which are Siamese mixes). She had the cats first and got the dogs later - the only problem she's ever had with them getting along was since she got the last of her dogs (a pup) he likes to play rough with both of the older dogs and the cats.

I had the same dilemma on bringing home a rescue German Shepherd, to a household of 9 rescue cats. It will take time, patience and perseverance. It sounds like the cats have no experience of meeting a dog before; they probably wonder what it is and being larger than them, will cause them to shy away. Over time, once they realise that the dog is not a threat and is part of every day life in their new home, curiosity will get the better of them and they may approach for a sniff. As long as the dog remains calm and doesn't react, frightening them-when eventually they accept the dog, don't be surprised to find them all curled up together. It may be a long process, as I find Siamese cats a little temperamental. However, it may be that they don't want to be friends, like mine . My cats, a year later, still fly across the living room to whack the dog, if he sticks his nose through the door. They'll certainly rule the roost. Good luck.

I have a Chihuahua who lives w/10 Siamese cats IN the House. They get along fine. Since you're planning to get a puppy (?), just introduce it to each cat separately. Most of the time, the cats will "adopt" a new baby in the house. Just don't make the cats jealous, by "fussing over" the puppy and ignoring them. They need to feel like the new puppy is THEIRS, too. Good luck..................

In general dogs and cats do not get along, some dogs just never ever get broken, into liking cats. When I moved in to my Dad's home away from home He had cats and My dogs disliked them dearly, I have broke all but one, and he hates them dearly. The others had to get hit in the nose a few time to realize that they really didn't want to mess with them there cats. Since it is a pup it may be easier, my two pups Jellybean and Buzzard liked the cats quicker, than Tom Tom and Spot the almost year old Boston terriers.

It all depends on the dogs attuide and also the cats. You never know. Unless a neighbor has a dog do the cats go wild or are they alright with it?

It all depends.
