I'm getting a new black lab puppy, and I want to name him Honkey. Wondering if this is inappropriate. I am a white fella, so I'm only marginally apprehensive about yelling, "Let's go, Honkey!" or "Honkey, come!" or "Bad Honkey!!" I consider it more appropriate than my fist choice, Cracker, but curious to hear your opinions about a black lab named Honkey.

Emma and Toby are not lots to flow on - what are their registered names? We often use some thing that comes out of the names of the parents, and then a decision call that comes from that. in spite of it rather is, it is going to greater wholesome his character - he's goingto would desire to placed on his call for an exceedingly long term, with any success- so which you're searching for a canines call, not a puppy call...

Please give your dog an honorable name. A beautiful black Lab deserves a good masculine name. Remember he will not be 6 months old all his life. Call him 'Mozart' or 'Churchill' something that shows you have a little bit of culture.

You can name your dog whatever you want. I had a pup that my dogs, during their teenage years, wanted to name Hooch, they thought it was funny. We ended up compromising and I called her Pooch (very original wouldn't you say?).

i wouldn't, only because i work for kirby vacuum and one of our dealers came across a man that named his dog(no offense) ******. our dealer was black and we all freaked out when he told us this story. he was the only black with us, i felt so bad for him. but he has a new baby and had to quit for now. anyway please think of a better name for him.

Of course you know the negative connotations, so as long as you know the risk you are taking, go for it.
