To be honest, kittens are always going to be an interesting problem. I personally think however that you should buy it some nice, expensive cat food and if it doesn't eat that - let it starve til it eats it. I promise you, it'll eventually eat what it is told.
It is your pet and you should be the one controlling it.

He's probably just getting used to his new surroundings. I wouldn't be too concerned as long as he's acting ok otherwise. Try to coax him into eating by hand feeding him, or putting a little warm water on his food or heating up the food if it's canned. I wouldn't go and change his food because this could cause stomach upset and diarrhea and also could cause him not to want to go back to eating his regular food. He really does need to eat soon though, kittens that young who don't eat can have a drop in blood sugar which can be dangerous. Good luck!

I had a cat (lived to be 20 yrs old) and actually "begged for table food) he would even eat spaghetti.
Unless you want to be bothered at the dinner table everynight don't start feeding the kitten from the table at all.
You might want to give the kitten another day or so to adjust to his new living enviroment. Cats/kittens will eat when they are hungry. I always live food in the bowl, some cats like to eat 4 or 5 small portions a day, it just depends.
If you little kitten doesn't eat within a few days, try purina kitten chow. (I feed all my animals purina, they are all huge, never fat, and have lived long lives)
Good luck w/ your new baby :) he'll eat when he gets hungry, everything is so new to him right now, if he's learned where the litter box is, he'll learn where his food it and eat, sooner than later.

You might want to go back to the pet store and get some kitten milk replacement (KMR) and mix it with some dry KITTEN food. He may just be reacting to being in a new, unfamiliar place, and will settle down and eat soon. But, if you give him "people" food, he may never want "kitten" food. He needs to be on KITTEN food (Iam's or Science Diet)...not adult food, for the first YEAR! I used to have a kitten who wanted to eat my oatmeal in the morning. I let him have a little, since he was also eating HIS regular KITTEN food, too. You might want to CALL your vet and make an appt for his first shots, and ask them at that time what you should do. He's the age to start his series of preventative meds. Good luck......and enjoy your new baby!
