If the wormer was from walmart it probably didn't do the trick. Take him to the vet and explain what is going on. There are other possible explanations for the weight loss that only a vet can diagnose.

Well, fleas cause tapeworms so if he got exposed to fleas again after the dose, you have the same problem. Roundworms can be introduced into their system again just by going out in the yard. It usually requires dosing every 4-6 weeks to keep them in control. Your dog will continue to lose weight until you get rid of them, but at this point, I suggest a vet needs to look at him. Mosquitos cause heartworms, which can kill your dog without ever having shown any symptoms. You can only get that from your vet, though. No more fooling around at this point, though. Get to your vet before you lose your dog. Anemia from worms can and will kill your dog. He will give you ways to put weight back on your dog quickly, too.

A stool sample needs to be taken to a vet. I do not think over the counter dewormers work well, if at all, JMHO. If your pitbull is on heartworm meds monthly, that is suppose to take care of all worms EXCEPT tapeworms. Tapeworms can make a canine lose weight as you describe. They can come from other things but ingesting even one flea seems to be the common cause.

If he is still loosing weight i suggest seeing a vet, if you used a super market brand wormer chances are that it hasn't got all the worms.
To help him gain weight, find a high protein dry dog food, a working dog mix normally has higher protein, and feed him twice a day, until he improves then take him back to once a day.
But... I would get a vet to check that there are no other problems first.

Consult your Vet before it gets any serious. Unless the dewormer is still in his system, which is probably the case, but the way you are describing his apprence its not real good. Your vet might insist on changing his medicine
