My dog doesn't go outside often. Since then he has gotten this bump on the back of his neck. It's heals and scabs fine, but it continues to not heal completely. My dog can't go outside b/c we aren't allowed to have dogs, but is fully trained to use pee pads. Does anyone one think that's his skin is drying out b/c he doesn't go outside often? I feel he scretches the area and that's why it won't heal. Any thoughts?

I have a 10 gallon tank with an AquaClear filter...only to discover that the lid I had originally purchased will not fit since the filter hangs on the edge. Does anyone know of a lid I could buy somewhere that is either wide enough to go over the filter, or that has a "hole" of sorts for it to sit nicely? A brand name or link would be nice :)

I figure I'd search for lids first rather than pay for a new filter...

And: I need the lid because the fish I'm going to put into it soon are known jumpers...I don't want my new babies escaping :)

We just got rid of our female rabbit. At first we thought she was pregnant, but then thought since their was no babies she didn't have them. So we got rid of her and then the next day we looked outside and saw a little bunny sitting next to this huge cat. We then decided to see what the heck was going on, so approached the cat and baby bunny, trying to scare the cat away so it wouldn't kill the cat. But the strange thing about it was that once we ran over to them, the cat jumped up and took the bunny in its mouth and jumped over the fence. But the cat only did that because we came over. So was the cat trying to protect the baby bunny? Or save it for dinner? I was trying to figure it out because why was the cat sitting there calmly at first, but when we came the cat ran, grabbed the bunny in it's mouth, and jumped over the fence. What is the cat doing? Defending it? Or trying to kill it? Please help.

He is almost 1 yr old and i havent really handled him but if i started now do you think he would become tame. He lives in a 30 gallon tank has a log to go in and has a big limb he can crawl up on and bask on. Please help because i feel jealous i havent spent time with him.

decided to save some of the feeder comet goldfish from the jaws of my reptiles. I used tap water for their enclosure (they like ph?). I heard they love cold water so i check the water is about 65f. i put in some hides and i have a bubbler. i don't know what im doing wrong but they seem to go up for air and slowly drop to the ground and repeat. why is that? lack of oxygen in the water or going room temp water to 65's? what should i feed them if they survive?

I just wanted to know if anyone else had a cat with asthma and wanted to know how your cat is doing. If they are on any meds currently?

We found Isis outside literally on our door step November of 2006. We took her in, tried to find her owner. No one came forward so we were going to foster her and adopt her out. Then she became very ill and we almost lost her. We took her to the vet who after several tests said she had asthma.
She was put on Terbutaline and Prednisolone. She was doing better but still had trouble when she got stressed (Getting used to the other cats. She was a people cat but not a cat cat for sure).
In July after moving, we starting weaning her off (first attempt was unsuccessful) again and she was doing great. She is now completely off her medication and she is doing wonderful. she is used to all the cats now and is more active and alive than I have ever seen her. The vet said she never thought she would be off medication.

My beautiful black lab mix, whom I love dearly, is driving me insane! We just paid A LOT of money a week ago to get her spayed and ever since then she has been sneaking off to chew up anything and everything she can! She's alittle over a year old and didn't even destroy things this bad when she was a pup.
What could be bothering her so bad to make her so distructive?
She's not usually like this so thats why I think it might be a phsycological thing with her. Something must be bothering her. Could it be from getting her spayed? Could she be mad at me for something?
I'm at a loss with her. She's driving me crazy... She sneaks off to chew up slippers or my daughter's toys all the time.
This morning alone, she had chewed up a candle and a rope light (that was unplugged) and some trash that I have yet to find where it came from! Just this morning!
What should I do?

I got a new black lab mix puppy about 1.5 months ago. He was sort of a hand me down pup. Someone gave him to this girl then the girl gave him to me because he was too much of a handful for her to take care of. Since I have no kids or anything of that matter I welcomed the idea of having a pup. I am pretty sure he needs his shots but taking him to a vet is too expensive. Is there another way I can get his shots? Can I self administer his shots? Any help would be welcomed.

I live on the edge of a nature preserve with a number of rare, endangered, and protected species. We spotted a stray cat after finding several dead birds. We trapped the cat on our property and since it had no collar we turned it over to the local shelter.

The neighbor put up signs for the lost cat and we told him what had happened. He retrieved the cat and proceeded to threaten us if we trapped his cat again. He continues to let the cat out.

Without getting law enforcement involved how can we get the neighbor to keep the cat indoors or under direct supervision. There is an ordinance here that requires cats to be indoors or on a leash and it is a $250 fine for each occurance.

We don't want to go that route, but the cat is harmful to the preserve.

I think he has mange, (it is on his head, neck & a lil bit on his face) but i'm not positive, i did some research he has all the symptoms, i can NOT afford a vet, is there anything i can buy over the counter or something cheap i can use at home to get rid of it and make him more comfortable ??? He itches severely. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank You.
