Cat's fur is ffalling out?

It is falling out in chunks,his belly is bare the vet says it is allergies,but it is still happening its been going on for a year now, help!

Have you been able to determine what ingredient or ingredients are causing the allergies? There are foods that contain lamb and rice, very mild and a lot of cats respond to that. The biggest allergies are to fish or grains. Ours has an allergy to some of the preservatives, so we've had a hard time getting him onto something that works, but did find two brands he'll tolerate.

Well that isn't much information on the question.Cats hair fall out when weather changes.It usually happens the period of spring(when they lose the winter coat) and then again in autumn when they get rid of the thin summer hair and prepare for winter.But keep in mind indoor cats change their hair all year long(due to artificial ways of warming/cooling the house).So it could be just normal.If your cat is young it may just be losing it's kitty coat for the hair adults have.This is normal also.If the cat's hair falls out and you actually see bald spots in the coat of your cat and/or redness or aching or scratching in the areas your cat's hair is falling out take it to the vet as it could be a dermatological problem and you may need to treat your cat for some problem(skin parasites,allergies etc)

haha same thing here but thats normal for cats there like snakes the get a new skin but cats actually just get a new fresh coat so dont worry :0)

if the cats fur is falling off in chuncks it is probley sick
