Why isnt my baby gecko not eating i just got him and i havent seen him eat once he just lays there on his heating rock when i go in to try and pet him and stuff and pick him up he runs so fast and i cant even see where he goes i got him in my hand a few times and stuff but like why wont he eat is it because hes not used to where hes at? plz need answers

my gecko isnt a leopard gecko its an mediterranean and its eating baby crickets thats wat the pet store ppl where feeding it so it cant be 2 small and the heating rock doesnt go up high so its not even hot its just warm

oh and 1 more things i had other reptiles b4 and we used a heating rock and they never got burned

Hm.
My leopard gecko did the same thing when we first got her. How large are the crickets you're feeding to him?
Maybe they're too tiny for him to see.
The problem with my gecko was she was simply frightened about being in a completely new place and area. Give him some time, when he's hungry enough he'll eat.
If this continues for longer than two weeks, hand feed the gecko.
And a word of advice: Heating rocks can burn your lizard. Try getting a reptile heating pad at your local reptile store, and putting it UNDERNEATH the bark inside the tank.

Get rid of the heating rock--they are very dangerous and burn many reptiles every year. What is your set up? Is it a leopard gecko? They need an under tank heating pad at one end of the tank, NO loose substrate such as sand, gravel or bark, 3 hides--one cool, one warm, one moist. They need small crickets and mealworms. A water bowl. A calcium and a vitamin supplement, no overhead lighting. Check out this site for complete care info.
