I have a 2.5 gallon unfiltered tank and I have tried two different heaters for my betta Marvin, neither which seems to be working. One was a 7.5 watt which was a waste and now the 25 watt doesn't seem to be doing a thing. I even turned it up to the highest setting, and nothing. The water temp fluctuates between 68-72 degrees and I would like it somewhere between 72-78. Any ideas? Since a higher wattage heater isn't an option, I don't know what else to do.

I have a 4 month old kitten and a 3 year old cat. I was letting them eat as much as they wanted but the big cat is getting really fat.

I started just giving them a few scoops of food a day and now they act like they are dying of starvation (but the big cat is not getting any lighter). Sometimes they get into the trash or a few times they ate some cardboard. I don't want to starve them but I don't want the big one eat herself to death. I'm new to cat ownership so I just don't know what is right.

The little one takes as much food as he can get his mouth on, so maybe the big cat is scarfing it down just so she will have some. Maybe I should separate them for feeding times.

All my koi and goldfish are slowly dying.I autopsied a koi about 8 yrs old 2 ft and 20 lbs.I found his whole inards coverd with what i can only describe as fish-egg looking but about the size of a needle head.It was beize in color and there had to be thousands of them. The fish have been slowly dying over a period of 2 weeks slowly getting lethargic and hanging under the waterfall.I tried salt baths and melafix and pimafix .ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS ? Also would it be safe to introduce new fish in the future or completly empty the pond and hopefully the problem.

If one is male and the other female, are they capable of having babies? If so, what would the babies look like?

So, I have two 4 year old labs, and 2two 4-5 month old kittens. We've had them for a few months, but haven't let them roam the house. We were waiting for them to grow a bit so they wouldn't get trampled. Anyway, we noticed the kittens like the dog's [dry] food! My question is kind of a few questions, really.

1) Will it harm the kittens, or is dog and cat/kitten food pretty much the same in terms of ingedients?

2) Do I need to worry about any aggressiveness over this? The kittens only became a constant presence in the house since last Sunday, and I don't want the dogs to feel jealous.

3) Also, do I need to worry about them not going back to their own food after snacking on dog food?

Thanks in advance!

I have three cats, one of which I will NOT give up so that leaves me with the other two to make a decision on. The reason I have to give up one is cuz my lease is only going to allow me to have two (I didn't read it closely enough the first time, so now I'm stuck) anyway, both cats get along really well with my cat I'm keeping. The problem is that one of them is older (not old - just not a kitty) and the older one has been declawed, spayed, vaccinated all of that, the other one my friend gave to me because she couldn't keep it, but because the kitty is so young she can't be spayed or declawed or anything yet - this is probably the one I would give up, I love her but she's so little she can find a new home to be comfortable in, the problem is I don't want to offend my friend. Please give me some helpful advice on what I should do. Thanks.

My new kitten is 2 mos. old. I just adopted her last week and she's adjusted to her new life really well. She eats, drinks, poops, pees just fine as far as I can tell. My only concern is that she has a big old pot-belly, and is skin and bones everywhere else on her body. When I press on her belly, she doesn't scream in pain, so I assume she's not having digestive problems. Could it be a tapeworm? Or some other kind of sickness?

i have 2 puppies and 2 cats. we're infested with fleas!!! i've tried front line, advantics, baths, sprays, fogged the house, flea collars-but i can't seem to get rid of them! i haven't bathed the cats-mostly because i enjoy having skin on my arms, the cats pretty much stay upstairs and the dogs down. cats are indoor cats. any suggestions about what else we can do? also does a spray "for cats" work on dogs too?

Hi,
My kitten will always kick a big of litter out the front of her litterbox. Why does she do this? It makes such a mess!! I've bought one of those mats for under the litter box that stretches out her paws when she steps on it, so she doesn't track litter everywhere, but it gets all over the tile floor in the bathroom and it grosses me out! What can I do? She is really good about using her litter box and covering it up, so I am nervous about doing anything that would deter her....

Alright I know this sounds like some sort of Halloween question but...

I have been training my Boxer to do some simple tricks with treats, and it has worked beautifully! The problem I am facing now is getting her to perform the tricks without bribing her with treats. She simply refuses to do them if I don't have a treat in my hand or at least pretend that I have one (Which I think is kind of mean...).

Anyway, any tips or tricks to get her to do the tricks she has mastered without the treat? One of the ones I am talking about is the "shake" command. She does it as soon as she sits and I offer a treat, without me even having to say it! *sigh*...any advice would be greatly appreciated. :-)
