how old is she?
does she have a discharge, although this is not always obvious, as some dogs have silent seasons.
when was she last in season, and was she with a male dog at any time?
the vulva does swell, and is more noticeable in labradors due to the lack of long hair around that area when they are in season, as do the nipples.

She may just be coming into heat, or she may alread be pregnant. You really need to know the cycle of your dog, if you don't want her getting pregnant, and you don't want to spay her. At this point, only time will tell. If she starts to bleed within the next week, however, she's not pregnant. If she doesn't bleed, you most likely have puppies on the way. Keep in mind that Labradors are notorious for having false pregnancies, so even if you think she's pregnant, she still may not be. Take her to the vet in 45 days and have an x-ray done to determine if she is or not (that is, if she doesn't bleed within the next week).

I would suggest it is on heat and that the best thing that you can do for it is not take it out when there is other dogs around or you might land up with a pregnant dog, it usually takes about 28 days then every thing should be OK but if you are still not sure, suggest you visit a Vet who will advice you. Hope this has helped.

Nipples are swollen when in heat, after heat to some extent, when pregnant and getting close to whelping and also when having a false pregnancy. One of my chihuahuas had a false pregnancy, produced milk and raised 6 puppies after their mother died.

There may be a 'stud' in the area, and your femme dog is just getting hot and bothered. I know that is what happens when I stroll into a supermarket or any other place like that. Some females just can't control themselves.
It is OK. I am used to be being seen as a sex object by females. It's all right. Really.

sounds like she is coming into heat unless she has already been caught. a little stray came to us in april and her nipples started sweeling a month or so later, she had 6 pups on the 21 of june.if she starts bleeding she will have her cycle and if not possibly pups. good luck.

It means she is coming into heat and you can expect to see them like that for a week or so after she finishes her season.

Could be either, however it's also a sign of a thyroid problem.
