was wondering since winter is coming and it is starting to get harder to control my ball pythons heating, would putting a heating pad under his tank help ?? would i be able to set it to a controlled temp so that it would always stay warm during the nights ?? i only have news papers under there as well...im not to sure what to do

i have a puppy that is about 2 1/2 months old and he potties on the mat but then he acts like we are not training him and he will go anywhere and everywhere. but then he has his days that he will use his puppy pad. what is up with that? is there anything i can do, or is it just him?

Hi my two rats have baby's one litter is just over a week old they have there color and one that had baby's 5 days ago. I'm a small animal breeder and would like to put some gerbils in the cage that the other one is in or should i wait until the baby's leave there mother then do it.

When the vet spayed her they said she only had 1 ovary and the one she had was underdeveloped..they cut her open farther to make sure her other organs were functioning properly and they were. I took her back this friday to see what was going on, and they took blood work which I'm waiting to get back. Is it possible that her missing ovary partially grew, or they left her uterus or another part of her reproductive organs inside her? I'm just p****d that I have to deal with her in heat, and that she has to go through a "exploratory surgery" if the results show the vets screwed up!

I had my dog spayed in August and I have noticed that lately she has been having discharge! Also she has what looks like a gut coming out where her stiches were!!! I am going to take her to the vet. Any help???

The top ridge (line that runs from the neck of the turtle to the tail) of both my Red Eared Sliders shell is a different color than the rest of the shell. They are both healthy and very active! Can anyone tell me why this part of the shell is different color? They are both growing fast (one is growing faster than the other), but I don't know if this is the reason for the shell being a different color.

i just got my hamster yesterday and it is a very nice male teddy bear hamster. the cage i got for it had like a tube thing and there was a "bedroom" for the hamster at the top of the tube. today, after i came home from school, i lifted up the top of the "bedroom" cos i wanted to play with my hamster. (it was awake) when i was holding it, the hamster kept trying to jump off my hand. i put it back into the cage. 10 minutes later, i went to check on it and i tried to put it in the "bedroom" cos that was his fav. place. he didn't seem to like anymore. i think he doesn't feel safe in his "bedroom" anymore. then i tried holding it again and it bit me on my finger. i dropped him back in the cage. 30 minutes later, i checked on him again and he was sleeping in a corner of the cage. i feel bad because after i lifted him out of his bedroom, it's like he's afraid to go there again. when can i do to make him not be afraid? thanks!

So....i got these fish at a fair like a year ago and they are now approx. 8 inches long and are sooooooooo fat! i thought they were supposed to like die in a few days but they havent. I started out with a 3 gallon tank and now im up to a 10 gallon. what if the get too big to swimm anymore? i mean its already to late to flush them! they wouldnt fit down the hole!!! lol am i feeding them too much? i give them 2 tablespoons each day

Hey all this is Zazy's friend ( we share this acount becouse my parents won't let me have my own). If you rember i asked a question a couple of days ago about what kind of supplies & food i should get for a two month old black lab my parents were adopting for my birthday present. Well guss what!? The shelter i was supposed to be getting my dog from won't let me have her becouse of a really stupid reason.. guss what the reason is? It's becouse my parents are renting the house we live in & we don't own it. The shelter told us that they only let people adopt who own houses since they think they have more money & thus can take car of that animal better! WTF? Just becouse we may not be rich does not mean that we won't be good pet owners! Im so mad i had already fallen in love with that puppy & i'm devasted that i can't adopt her. Anywho my question is: is that shelter alowed to do that? If not how can we get them into truble?

I bought two red eared sliders and one is growing faster than the other. The little one is half the size as the other one and both were the same size when I bought them. Both are very healthy and the little one eats more than the bigger one. I feed them in a separate tank and I put the little one in to feed a couple minutes before the other, so that he is getting enough food. The little one will even fight for food and he usually wins! :) I bought them less than two inches long so they are not old enough for me to tell their sex. Is it normal for one turtle to grow at such a rapid rate compared to the other?

'Taste of the wild' is the new product through Diamond, which makes me a little hesitant....BUT it IS grain free which is something I've been looking for. I dont have alot of choices in my area. Heres the link:

I am thinking of becoming a BD owner and this is what kind of lighting i have planned:
1 Reptisun 5.0 Light with fixture
1 Basking bulb with fixture
1 Purple (or red) night glo bulb with fixture

What about for the diet:
Some mini freeze dried, gutloaded, crickets
Some turnip,collard, or mustard greens with some small carrots

I got a German Sheperd and I don't know when I should train him. He is already 1 month old and he's going to be 2 months old on october 14. When I try to train him he always thinks i'm playing with him and he bites me. He learned how to sit by himself and he kinda knows how to shake hands. But when is it a good time to teach him tricks?
