Go to the vet and do it properly. don't listen to anyone that tells you to burn ticks, cover them with vaseline, or motor oil or whatever crazy scheme they come up with.. Go to the vet and get the dog treated properly so you don't risk lyme disease.

Ticks have to be removed with tweezers very carefully so you don't break off the head and it stays in the dogs skin. Better take the dog to the vet they know how to do it. Also get some Advantage while your there to put on him so he won't get ticks.

You need to put on Frontline Plus, or Advantix every month until you don't see any ticks on your dog. Whenever you see ticks on your dog or in the house, use tweezers to remove or pick up the ticks and put them in a bottle filled with rubbing alcohol. Ticks die soon after they are disposed in the rubbing alcohol. I had that problem couple months ago. I hope this helps.

there's some dog shampoos that kill fleas and ticks . my friend had a pomeranian with fleas, tweezing and killing them wont get rid of them [they hatch everyday], her vet said to use original green palm olive as a shampoo, but not to let the dog sit in it too long,
