How old are you? When did you start riding? Do you show, if yes how often? Do you ride english or western? Are you in 4-h or pony club? Do you keep your horse at home or boarded (if you don't mind me asking how much is your board)? Do you take riding lessons if so, how often and how much are they? Thanks!

How old are you? 27

When did you start riding? 10

Do you show, if yes how often? every now and again. a couple a year.

Do you ride english or western? English. Have done a little western though

Are you in 4-h or pony club? Neither

Do you keep your horse at home or boarded (if you don't mind me asking how much is your board)? I lease 8 acres with stables for $50 per week. (in New Zealand)

Do you take riding lessons if so, how often and how much are they? I don't take lessons. Am self taught. I grew up in the country so it was something that was just part of life out there.

I have 3 QH's. One is 8...one is 5 and one is almost 5 months old. I also have a Arabian/QH mix and a Paint (no color though). I don't show. I use to board and paid $225 a month. Now I live on 80 acres. I haven't ridden a lot this summer. But usually I ride twice a day...once in the morning and once in the evening as I am sensitive to the heat. Anything above 75 degree's is too hot for me. I started riding when I was 4. I had about 10 lessons in western when I was 6 and about 5 lessons in english when I was 12. We never had the money to continue the lesson's when I was a kid. I learned everything I have learned by not being afraid to ask questions and the best advice I got was from a old cowboy and he said, that a true horseperson never knows everything about horses as there is and always will be something new to learn. And it's true.
Oh yea...and I'm 33 =)

Hi. I have a TB mare, 16.2 hands. I'm almost 51 years old; I started riding when I was 11, but quit riding at about 16. I bought my horse last year after taking riding lessons again - she was a 50th birthday present to myself. I am not in a pony club. I keep my horse at the same stable at which I purchased her - she was a rescue. The woman I bought her from is now one of my best friends. I pay $300 a month board; I pay for meds and all vet costs and shoeing. I ride English but have learned a few basics of Western - I own both an English and a Western saddle. I don't take riding lessons per se anymore, but my friend gives me tips every so often.

I have a 21 year old Arab/Saddlebred gelding who acts like he's 10. I'm also 21, and I started riding before I was walking. I used to show once a year when I was in 4-H, but no longer. I showed in both English and Western (and placed higher in English every time). I keep my horse at my mom's farm (she also does boarding, ranging from $150-$250 a month). I used to take English riding lessons, $50 a session, once a week. Hope that helps!

I started riding when I was around...11, I believe. Started as a 3-day camp to get me away from the TV. It sure worked. =) I have ridden English from the beginning, though I wouldn't mind dabbling in other disciplines. As for showing, I think I've had the opportunity/money to do that maybe five times in my life, and they were all when I was green at the whole thing. I was never in 4-H or pony club; if I knew they existed when I was younger, I might have tried it out. The only horse I have is my imaginary one, and he's a good friend. Maybe one day I'll be able to afford a forever friend of my own. The lessons 'round these parts are a bit pricey; the last place I remember was $50 for a half-hour private lesson.

I use to own two horses, a Walkaloosa mare and an Appendix QH gelding. I'm 21, I started riding when I was about 9 or 10. I've done some showing.. I used to go to about 4 or 5 shows a year. I ride both english or western but I've ridden english longer. I did 4-H my senior year of hs. When I had horses, I boarded them, it was $300/month for full board. I don't take lessons anymore either but when I did I paid $20/hour once, occasionally twice, a week.

I'm 40 years old. Started riding when I was about 7. I used to ride endurance until I had my daughter 7 years ago, then I showed paints until last year. We keep our horses at our farm. We only have 4 horses left now (down from 12 last year, since we don't show anymore). We have an Arab, a Paint, an Appaloosa, and a Welsh cross pony, plus 3 donkeys. Ride western-need the security of the saddlehorn! lol

I am 25 and started riding when I was about 8 reallt develed into the lessons stage at age 10 and kept that up for 4 years before breaking out on my own. lol/ I usually show but this summer that came to a schreeching halt when I got pregnant with my second child. When i am not "in foal" I barrel race, show western pleasure, hunt seat and even on ocassion rope. I don't have a particular type i liek to ride, western , english, bareback, driving if it involves horses I am happy. I belong to the AQHA , APHA , ApHC , PTHA and AQPA and also local saddle clubs:) My horses are kept at my home, well actually they still live with my parents..... but that is just right down the road and since they pick my son up from school daily I'm there all the time hehehehehe. I don't really take lessons now per say but I do love going to clinics and seeking out advice from anyone willing to give it. This coming spring I do plan on asking a friend of mine for help in recovering from this impending baby by giving me a few refresher lessons and helping my regain my seat and all. You wouldn't believe how much your body changes after kids and how that can affect your seat and balance!!!!! I own 4 horses at the moment an appy, a QH , a paint and an arab qh, the QH , Paint and Arab are all related (QH is mom and paint and arab/qh are 1/2 sisters) the appy is well just my goofy loveable appy:) That's about it:) Thanks for letting me share:) Have a great day!!!!

We have (8) Quarter Horse Paints
(3) are mine, my husband has (2) & is looking for a 3rd. Our three sons, ages 10, 8 & 5 each have one.
I started riding before I could walk. I was in front of my dad or my grandad. Started riding on my own when I was 4. We had 800 acres with cattle, so we used our horses for ranch work. My husband is a physician (surgeon) so he likes to team rope to unwind & he is teaching the boys to as well. I just ride for fun, I will swing a rope now & then & I work a few horses for something to do. I do the green breaking & the owners take them to trainers to have them trained for whatever they will be used for....
Our horses are at home. I have never boarded a horse, so I have no idea of the cost. I would guess it will vary depending on the location & the condition of the place.
