When you have a dog in whelp, especially a small dog that could need help, you TAKE TIME OFF.
You let her get pregnant, you have to take the responsibility!!!

And in case someone actually has to tell you...NO ONE on here can tall you when she is going to have them!!!!!!!

I agree...these kind of people make me want to cry too. Poor darn dogs!!! They give unconditional love and this is what they get in return.

I have found that most times the dog will have the puppies in the middle of the night. If she is due on Oct 18 you can always take and board her at you vet's until they are born so if there are any problems or she needs some help she will be right there. Is Oct 18 the 63rd day of her breeding. I have one female that only carries her puppies 58 days so remember that they can come earlier than 63 days. Is there someone that you trust to come into your home and sit with her during the day while you are work so if there is a problem they could carry her to the vet? If this is her first litter it may take a while for her to have them when her labor starts. I'm sure that she will be fine, however it always pays to be prepared.

I could first take the puppy to the Vet. to ensure there's no well being issues that could possibly rationale a few of your issues. No telling what this deficient puppy has been going by way of so please be sufferer. I simply expert a dog however I received her while she was once 6 a million/two weeks ancient, she got here from a breeder. I have got a few of my puppies from the humane Society and I have had no issues with potty coaching. I could stroll the puppy to the door , placed the leash at the puppy. Walk across the backyard again no longer in an overly colossal field. Walk it within the equal situation whenever. Once it does move external it is going to begin to sniff in which it has long past and can begin going there. The deficient puppy does not realize what it's intended to do if it's been in a cage for see you later. The grass most often confuses it. I hold my leash at the door knob normally. The puppy will partner the leash with going external and can stroll to the door to move out.My puppy after three a million/two weeks will stroll to the door and take the leash off the door and watch for me. You simply must hold a near eye at the puppy and while it begins to surprise take it external. Every time my dog does potty external I will provide it a deal with once we come again within. I hold the treats proper through the door. Please simply provide the puppy time and plenty of affection and it is going to come round. It was once a well factor you probably did you stored that puppy's lifestyles and it is going to pay you again!!!!

well at 63 days gestation can vary to 5 days before to 5 days after so plan on taking upto 2 keeks off.
If not then see if your vet will do a planned c-section that would be the only way to know exactly when she will deliver.
if this is a first litter she may reject them then who will be around to hand feed them at evry 2 hours evryday until 4 weeks old thn begin weaning, etc.
I hope you also realize that mom and pups need to be wormed at 2,4,6,8, weeks old and should have first vaccine at 6 weeks.
If mom isn't very big she should be given nutrical for any sugar drops during birth.

Sparing the lecture, you need to start taking her temperature 2x daily. When it goes from about 101 down to 98-99, (Farenheit) birth will occur in 12-24 hours. here's a site that will assist you. Also, if her temp drops, you need to STAY HOME with her! if not, she could DIE.

ALSO.. you need to start gettingin mind the signs to look for that indicate she needs to go to a vet.. the best thing for yo uto do is to get an x ray to see how many puppies there are. That way, she won't die from an infection because there's one left inside of her. PLEASE look up all the info you can online between now and her birth!!!

Make sure she has seen a vet and he/she doesn't think your Chi will have any problems giving birth and is very healthy. Nature will take it's course, whether you are at work or not. If she is fine and healthy she will probably not have any problems whether you are there or not. Hope you are there tho to so you can watch this wonderful little miracle. Good Luck!!

Don't most small breed dogs need to have c-sections?

Not to be rude but hopefully all the puppies die the last thing this world needs is more badly bred dogs.

Some people are so ignorant.......
