You need more than just a bowl, and depending on what kind of turtles they are, you may need more than an aquarium. You may need to invest in a 75 gallon tank for now until they get bigger and then look into building an outdoor pond. They may end up fighting so you might have to separate them which means another pond. They also need a basking area with a UVA/ basking lamp over it on for 12 hours a day and a UVB light over the water area. Also, they need a more varied diet other than fish, too much fish is actually a bad thing and some fish carry diseases. Check out this site for more info www.austinsturtlepage.com PLEASE remember that turtles are more than a 30 year commitment and are very expensive, if you can for some reason no longer take care of them, find someone well informed and responsible enough who can besides letting them go, which would end in sure death for the turtle.

Take Care.

I hate to tell you this, but there is a LOT more you need to do.

Most turtles need three things to be happy and healthy-

1. Good water. This means LOTS of space (figure 10 gallons of water per inch of shell length); warm water (75-80F); and very clean (powerful filter).

2. Good sun. Safe, easy to climb basking sites that are warmed nicely (90F), well-lit, and ideally lit with UVB lighting as well.

3. Good food. A mix of about 1/2 pellets and 1/2 live or frozen/thawed 'fish food' like small fish, shrimp, worms, etc.

Check out good care sites like http://www.redearslider.com for more good guidelines.

Please tell me you're not keeping your turtles in a tiny goldfish bowl. I hope you're not one of those people who actually believes that turtles only grow to the size of their enclosure. This is not true about any reptile or fish. If you can't afford a fish tank, go to Walmart and buy a Sterilite or Rubbermaid storage bin. You can get one for $5 to $10. They're great for keeping small turtles, and they work for snakes too.

You need to do some deeper research into caring for turtles--they aren't easy. Here is a good website--please read it and try to improve the turtles living conditions asap!
